Darned Flats !!!

I was just thinking this morning! During my daily ride, I was thinking that it has been more than 48 hours since my last flat. :thumb: (Mind you, I never spoke it - at all!)

42 miles this morning, and then I parked it in the garage. Time for a cup af tea, a toasted peanut butter english muffin, and a shower. :innocent:

We then proceeded to go feed my 91 year old mother, and my 91 year old mother in law. We decided to treat them both to some of our fresh panfish filets. Boy, were they good!

When we got home, there sat my bike with a flat rear. :roflmao2: My wife just rolled her eyes, and went inside.

A little tiny sliver of glass.

On the plus side, it sure was nicer repairing it in the garage, then where I usually have to do it. :D

Yes, that's true! A flat tire in the garage is one of cyclings little treats, and it sounds like you know that already!

Flats happen!

On a club ride last week one of our riders has a flat so 4 of us, who are riding together, stop to help and wait. He gets it fixed and we all start to get back on our bikes. Just as one rider starts to walk up to her bike it starts the losing air sound and goes flat. No one was even near it and it had been sitting untouched for 10 minutes.
Darn flats! Go figure!

Rode 5 miles through 8 to 15 inches of snow, IN THE STREET, my rear tire found 139 sandburrs that ride. (1994, Wichita, KS) No-More-Flats foam tubes for the next 2 years.

Sometimes the gods of flats have a good time with your day! Had 5 flats within 8 miles of riding. Total pain in the rear but the good thing is last year almost 4000 miles of riding with no flats.

I recently experienced the mystery flat problem on my front tire. About every other week the thing would slowly go down during a ride. I got really good at changing tubes out on the road (I'm thinking about joining a Nascar pit crew). Sometimes it would just go down overnight. I was to the point of just buying a new tire one day and I decided to inspect the inside of it one more time and found a very small pice of wire. Going on a month now and no flats.

No truly good deed goes long unpunished.
