what a great video! I don't know if I will ever be able to do any of that, but it sure is nice to see someone who can do it well...

You say that like it's a bad thing.

In this context (Fixed Gear bikes on the road), "Silly" is a good thing! And while my rational self may have a problem with riding the fixed gear when I could be riding a multi-geared/freewheel equipped bike, the rest of me thinks it's wonderful, and really great fun !

I'd recommend you try it, and you'll probably like it. Maybe not though . . . fixed gear on the road is not for everyone.

Hang in there Jet!
You will quickly get the hang of riding FG on the road.
It is significantly different from a road bike so as to keep you fresh and keep cycling from gettting stale.

Once you become accustomed to not being able to coast (which according to the late Sheldon Brown is "bad for you") you will learn to appreciate the nuances in the terrain you ride on.

For a new experience try doing a club ride on your FG bike. Drop down 1 level on your first time out with multi-geared bikes as direct drive is a more intense workout. And don't forget your brakes.
