Bought the new bike

Well I went and picked up the new bikes after work today bought the Cannondale Six13-3 for the young wife and the Six13-5 for me. We had test rode the Specialized Roubaix, the Allez and the Giant Defy advance but just fell in love with the Cannondales. The LBS gave us a good deal At least I belive he did, We got the Six13-3 for 1550 and the Six 13-5 for 1325, He put cat Eye computers on both bikes and we got Shimano pedals and shoes included in the price. We will do our best to post (not pist) pictures tomorrow after we are done riding. It is supposed to be 70 so we should have a great day to ride.

Getting ready to go on the maiden voyage on the new bikes, well the first ride since they became ours. We did 55 miles last week on them as a test ride. Pray for us since this ride will be our first ever experiance with clipless pedals, if we make it back alive and uninjured we will post some pictures.

Naaa- These are "Dales"- not your common Roubaix- Madones or TCR's. Dale Riders don't have to join Club Tombay- They are honorary members just by looking at them.

We are back and will be taking some pictures of the bikes soon this afternoon. I do not qualify for club Toombay yet sorry, I am disappointed but Judy has Where do we get her application? She fell twice, The first was just standind at a stop sign, had the right foot unclipped and the left foot still clipped and while standing there just fell over to the left side. The second was starting aout after a quick water break again with right unclipped and left clipped she fell to the left in the middle of the road. This one put minor scratches on the left brake lever and the rear cam lock handle. Oh yeah she also got a bloody elbow from that one. We only did 20 miles because we have a few chores we have to complete today and are going to a hockey game tonight.

Need pics of the blood- so if it has been cleaned up- send her out on the bike again. By the sound of it- won't be long before you can get the first action picture of Entry to Club Tombay.

Very many congratulations on the new bikes. Enjoy 'em - many happy miles ahead, I trust.

I hope Judy isn't deterred. I'm sure you set the tension to the slackest?

My first ever try on clipless was on a borrowed bike from a friend - I borrowed his shoes. He's a very strong rider, sets the tension quite firm - and wears size 12 shoes, whereas I wear size 9. I knew all about (in theory) how to release, but all the heel swivelling just meant that my foot swivelled inside the firmly attached shoe.

Had to lean against a lamp post and take the shoe off - otherwise I'd still be riding now 2 years later
