World cup Track cycling.

Not mentioning this to crow- but the World Cup Track Series held over the weekend in Manchester.

Dare say most of you didn't know it was on- but after the achievements at the Worlds earlier in the year and the Olympics- Britain was expected to do well at this event. They did- winning 14 of the 18 events.

And for those of you that don't have much coverage of cycling on the TV- watched the BBC for 3 hours yesterday covering the whole of the 3 day event.

On top of that- Several of our "BIG" names were not there- Chris Hoy being the main one.

As I say- this is not to crow but Track cycling- Rowing and Yachting are 3 sports that have a lot of money being ploughed into them at the current time. The results are there. Just wish we could do the same for the economy.

Don't if you can get this link but the BBC have a good section on cycling up on the web.

Congrats to the Brit winners. BTW, I have a Planet X Pro Carbon Track bike frame set on order from Doncaster UK. Maybe it will come with some of that British mojo.

Congrats to the Brits! I appreciate your track racing enthusiasm. There was only a small USA contingent; 2 American women (both from California!) posted 8th and 10th in the 20K women's point race. (Shelly Olds (Scotts Valley, Calif./Proman) and Becky Quinn (Escondido, Calif./South Bay Wheelmen) respectively)

This is track racing on the 250 meter velodrome. Lance is a road racer where cycling did and may again revolve around him.
