Final ride with the Bride (pics)....

....before the end of Indian Summer. Finished work at 05:30 this morning
and after a quick nap we decided to take the Tandem to breakfast. It was
a balmy 55 degrees and there wasn't a cloud in the sky with no wind! The
leaves are in their final stages of change and the russets and browns were
absolutely beautiful.

We rode up Lake Ave. as far as Boxart St. and headed towards the Genesee
River to get onto the Genesee River Trail. In some places the leaves were so
thick on the ground that the blacktop trail was difficult to see. Here's
a picture of my better half along that trail just above the old Oak Forest
area where the waterfall is.

We continued down to the Turning Basin and out across the boardwalk area passing
just a few fishermen and walkers. Once we reached the lower end of the trail
we headed back up to Lake Ave and breakfast at Uncle Tony's Diner.

After breakfast it was back over to the river, this time up along the top of
the gorge. Here's my dear bride at the Bill Davies Overlook where the old
Stutson St. bridge used to be. Note the massive fog bank in the background.
It's much cooler and very damp out over the Lake today.

And here's one more closeup of the bike among the Mums. All the gardens
along the Charlotte portion of the River Trail are planted and maintained
by volunteers from the neighborhood and they do a beautiful job even
though it's hampered by a good amount of vandelism.

So the bike is put away now in the garage and we both agree that we can't
wait 'till Spring.

Happy Trails

I'm glad it's only the final ride of the year. The "Final ride with the Bride" title had me worried!

With our similar weather, I'm thinking about all those wonderful areas far south of us.

Too late for the final ride of Indian Summer here. Right now it is 36 & snowing.

I heard that parts of South Dakota were hit by a blizzard yesterday.

Nice pictures! I love this time of year with all the fall colors and the colorful mums.

We've pushed the start of the regular Friday ride to 10:00 in hopes of warmer temperatures in the winter months. Today we delayed the start due to rain We finally started around 11:00 and had a great ride to lunch.

Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Nice to see a comfy a 'bent tandem!
Here in AZ we are fortunate to be able to ride 13 months out of the year.
Lots of real Indians here, but no Indian Summer! A week ago it was only 92 degrees.

I wish my wife was a rider. Even if she was, we both agree that we could never ride a tandem.

Very nice, colorful, pretty pics. I especially like the first one, with the contrast in your wife's vivid blue jacket against the beautiful fall colors in the background.... and the gold bike frame nicely blends in.
