Christmas is coming.........

What one bicycle related thing would you most appreciate receiving as a Christmas present?

Terrierman 11-13-08 10:44 AM

An Ipod. I know, I know....

NOS88 11-13-08 10:45 AM

Warm sunny weather. Now who can give me that?

Monoborracho 11-13-08 11:07 AM

1) a gift certificate for a fitting and then ordering of a new Waterford sport touring bike frame

or

2) a Garmin GPS

failing to receive either of the above, I'll be happy to get a new do-rag to go under my helmet.

stapfam 11-13-08 11:18 AM

Christmas is still too far away to think about pressies- The time for that is in the January sales.

Or the beginning of Decemebr if it is Giant Bikes.

A really good lightweight riding jacket. I have a heavyweight rain jacket, and plenty of long-sleeve jeerseys, but would like a really light water resistant shell for times when I get caught out.

I would like to ride with everyone on this bike forum, just one time!

+1

AND
I'd like to get all of my family together after midnight services, gathered round the fireplace, eggnog in hand and ..........

.... make them buy me a custom Ti bike with Campy 11 speed and Zipp wheels.
I'm not materialistic or anything.

I would like my surgically repaired knee to be healed by Christmas so I can join the 50+ ride. I am working on it as we speak. :thumb:

+100. I often wonder if it would be possible to arrange a time and place to meet.

My Christmas wish (bike-wise) is cute bike socks and a good helmet light. I was going to say a rack and trunk pack but I hope to have them way before then.

Funny you should mention this, but I just sent Santa Clause a hint... Park Tool PCS-9 repair stand.

I'll be getting just what I want when my riding friends show up at my house on December 20th to join me and my family for my one year cancer free survival party. It's looking like it will be the most people we've ever had in this house at one time.

tsl 11-13-08 09:53 PM

A Schmidt hub generator would be nice…

That wasn't on my Christmas list but I like it. So I'll add it.

Red Rider 11-14-08 12:29 AM

The best bike lights so we can ride the tandem after cgallagh gets home from work.

A classic steel frame that I can build up...I've never aspired to building a bike before but I'm recently inspired.

Global peace and happiness.

Just sayin'...

chainstrainer 11-14-08 01:29 AM

What I'd like most is a picture from each of you showing you and your family all riding bikes together on Christmas Day. That would almost be as good as riding with you all. I'll try to do my part.

My bride and I might just be able to work that out for you. And, it's a great idea. :thumb:

We'll all be stopping by for a Christmas eve ride, followed by drinks and dinner at your house. I'll be sending you my extensive list of dietary requirements shortly.

Come visit. You and the rest. Weather from November to April is perfect. Skip the summer months, though - they're harsh

Oh, sorry, not this Christmas - I'm picking up the kids in London and driving to ski in the alps over Christmas. That's my Christmas present right there - but I'd be hugely grateful for a folder!

Hope all get what you want, because I'm sure you've all been good, not bad...

I forgot that one.... thanks for the reminder to move it to the top of the list. I really want to learn how to maintain my own bike to a certain degree.

You need a mentor for this- May I suggest DG?

cranky old dude 11-14-08 07:08 PM

I know this is blasphemy, but I've already got about everything I
could possibly need..and then some! Yes ,a nice Easy Racer would be
swell but I can get by without it for quite some time I'm sure. Since
my favorite (and currently, my only) stoker has M.S., what I really,
really want is another rather healthy year so we can take a few more
rides together.

Happy Trails and Happy Holidays to all and here's hoping all our wishes
come to fruition. :)
