I gotta take a picture of my riding glasses. It's a set of $5 Wal-Mart sunglasses with $7 Wal-Mart bifocal lenses cut to size and glued in and a rear-view mirror epoxied to the left temple piece. A total work of art and damn it works good.

Have worn glasses since 8. Just started using bi-focals at 52. Now at nearly 54, have been told that I need tri-focals. What a pain. Have different prescription at 10" vs 20". Not going to go there yet, will struggle by with bi's.

I'm usually riding with bifocal safety glasses. They keep the bugs out of my eyes, help me see the little numbers on the computer and are real cheap.

I've been using reading glasses since age 55 at which time I couldn't read paperbacks on airplane flights. While I've worn safety glasses as cheap sunglass for quite a while, my recent return to cycling after 20 years has uncoverer the one true use for the bifocal safety glasses - namely, reading cyclometers. Glad to know I'm not the only one to use these. The bifocal inserts are too low in the field of vision for doing normal close work I've found.

Airplane flights are the worst. Those little reading lights are not good for anything.
Luckily I take the contacts out on a plane, so I don't need the reading glasses there.

I've had glasses since I was 9, but no bifocals yet. The Doc said I need them, but I said "No, I just push my glasses down my nose and I can read just fine!"
