Looking for a ride in DC (Springfield) area

We will be in the Springfield area for the thanksgiving weekend and the weather looks like it will be rideable.
Does any one have any 30 -50 mile routes they can recommend, or maybe a club or other group ride ?. We will be near Pohick rd.(Near the Alban Rd and Rolling Rd intersection)
I have found 1 route on Cyclist Nexus that looks OK, but am looking for more suggestions.
Thanks

I see you posted this in the NE regional subforum. Did you post this in the Southeast regional subforum? There a quite a few DC area folks posting there.

You could ride the C&O Canal trail, and there's great scenery around Great Falls.

I rode the entire length of it with 28mm tires, along with panniers a tent and a sleeping bag.

The WO&D paved 40+ mile rail trail reaches from Arlington to Purceville VA. There is a parking lot on the trail at Route 28 near the trails mid point.
