For some reason the dual valve design heads have problems. Have a Wrench Force one at our vacation house and the Schrader part is dead.

I had a Topeak replacement head fail on me last summer after only a few months use. It looks really heavy duty, but obviously some design flaw with the mechanism.

It grabs the presta valve securely and releases easily without harming the valve stem connection to the inner tube. It works well on smooth stems, threaded stems, smooth deep dish carbon extender stems and high pressure tubulars. I have not tried it on schrader valve stems. YMMV

My wife bought me that pump for my birthday last year. It has been amazing. No issues with presta valves, and I use it for my dolly and motorcycle tires. Never saw a pump head that actually worked well on both.

Cyclenzen, I have been using the same Silca Track pump since the mid 80's. You can get replacement parts online from Colorado Cyclist and biketiresdirect.com. CC has all the parts to rebuild it, including the inner leather pump piece that's impossible to find. It pumps even better at high pressure if you use two of those leathers.

I'm getting a Jamis Commuter 3.0 with Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires with presta valves. Does anyone know what the recommended pressure is with these tires? I'm trying to decide what pump to get for it--I'm thinking the ability to get to 160psi is overkill, and I might be able to save a little with something less capable (but WITH a good head for presta).
