Put her on her road bike, and you ride your mountain bike with 30 psi in your tires.

We took a 35 mile ride again together and I followed the same pattern as mentioned in one of my posts.
I just stayed behind her and helped her with her gearing , which she has said really helps. We did increase our average MPH over some of the past rides.
So things are looking up and as one of you said the view back there is not so bad, she looks great in her bike pants.
Some one wanted a photo posted of her and as soon as I figure out how to do it , I will post and all you old farts can drool. ;-)

It would be a serious mistake to think that drooling is all we can do.

My wife will ride with me on short rides, but on double centuries she likes to start about an hour before I do, then I pass her about lunch time +/- 100 mi. and I finish the double about an hour before she does.

She likes it that way, since she can ride at her own speed without slowing me down, plus she tends to ride a bit above her comfort zone when she's with me, since she always "thinks" she's slowing me down.

So I say, talk it over, and whatever works for you two is good!

Tell her she looks especially great on a bike.
I tried this today. We were riding together, with her in front, and I yelled out "You look great on a bicycle!" There was a pause, and she yelled back "As opposed to?"

33 years for us and I still love going for a ride with her just like I enjoy going for a walk with her. We go at her speed and I do my training rides without her.

The two bike thing never worked for my wife and me. You may find some tricks that make it better for both of you, we could not. Before we gave up we did as others here have, we went the tandem route and it opened up a whole new world to us. We loved it. We rode hard, could talk, it was a great new cycling experience. I really miss those days, my wife is no longer healthy enough to ride, even on the back.

Without even reading the post I will say you can't. That is ride with your slower girlfriend. Here's why ... you won't enjoy it unless it is a bike path ride with kids, then neither of you will have any expectations of speed. It's too bad you decided to date a slow girl. Maybe you can hang out at some bike clubs and meet a fast girl. Seriously. Or maybe she isn't into riding and you guys can just do other things together.

Ladies are not fast, they are quick.

Don't call her a fast woman.
