The challenges of riding in the winter

It's tough, but we all have to get out there and do it!

My GF and I struggled for hours in 80 degree weather Sunday, with nary a wind, before finally nearly collapsing at a cafe we found along the way, where we caught our second wind.

Those blue things on the right side of the image, for those of you who live in northern climes, are called "flowers." And that's not how my belly normally looks, because of course I'm sticking it out to ham it up for the shot. Normally you'd see six pack there.

The ride sounds fantastic- but I wouldn't stop at that cafe again. Can't see anything that resembles Food. Not even a crumb---Let alone PIE.

And I hate to say it but it is time to get a better camera. It doesn't show the sweat dripping off your brow after such a hard ride- and the distortion on the lens is pretty bad for such a fit rider.

Fixed it for ya. I can't wait for the next mudslide, earthquake, wild fire, drought, riot, fruit fly invasion, Santa Anna......

Hey what are you trying to pull here? I saw that same picture on another website;

crazyfatguyonabike.com

And your shirt is on inside out. The side with numbered size goes on the inside!

Seriously, great pic. You made me laugh. Good stuff!

Hey George,
Great to hear from you!!!!!
I own a pipe company--oilfield pipe, and I had to make
hay while the sun shined. Oil is down now so I'm not on the
phone 24/7 or traveling every day, so I can go back to my
second greatest love--riding. Great to have some time and
communicate with people sharing the same interests!!

BTW, I'm out of shape. I've been riding a stationary bike
and lifting weights, but a hard workout kicks my butt.

PS: the greatest love is the lady in my life!!!! Now I know what
happened to DG!

Even a guy who rides a white bike ought to know how much negative Karma he is storing up gloating like that at all of us who are gaining positive Karma from our stoic endurance of natures evil ways...but thats OK we who live in places with "real" weather understand the jealousy and feelings of Inadequacy that our lives of quiet determination engender in you lesser mortals and we forgive you

I did spot this earlier (After Louis pointed it out) And I think it is another reason not to goto that Cafe. Last time I something green in my coffee- it gave me a stomach ache.

Yeah, but when YOU ride in the winter YOU sweat and we don't and YOU can get over heated and we don't and YOU can get heat cramps and we don't and YOU have to drink lots of Gatorade and stuff like that to stay hydrated and we don't and YOU don't get to experience the thrill of watching your breath and we can.

And I'M Soooooo jealous and you're not.

Please stop. We're over-populated as it is. Please show pics of foreclosed mansions, over-crowded freeways, fires, floods, earthquakes, smog, gangs, and large groups of illegal immigrants standing on corners waiting for work.

You're just jealous because the rest of us can ride all day without needing breaks to cool off.
