Warning

I have been thinking about renewing my youth [currently 65] and have been reading posts for the last week or so. After serious thought as to how I will be riding and paying attention to the words of wisdom found on the forums I have decided.

Today I went to my lbs and ordered a Trek 7300. I have been visiting stores and trying out different bikes and think that the Trek is the one I want. They did not have one in stock, thus the order. It will be in in a week.

As to the warning, If for some reason I am not satisified, I shall look up each and everyone of you and flatten a tire. Be warned.

Can't tell ya how much I am looking forward to my new ride.

Pics will be posted as soon as I get it.

The Trek 7300 is a nice bike. Someday you might want a speedier lighter one, but for now I bet it'll work out well.

If you live in Loosiana you probably won't have to struggle to get it up a mountainside, as it will be a bit heavier than a CF bike.

And I keep my bike in my bedroom. I'm not a gun owner and we don't have a dog, but my cat will annoy the crap out of you if you attempt a break in.

Do have a dog- but it will lick you to bits and cover you with blonde hair to get you in trouble with the wife.

Not going to knock the bike- but want a ride report in the next week. Just don't try a century for the first ride.-The butt might make you want to give up riding.

I've said it before: bikes like that are the gateway drug. I know. I started with one.

You. Are. Doomed.

Pics of a new bike are nice, stories about you riding it are even better. We've been duly warned, now follow through!;)

If you actually do renew your youth, can we patent, copyright and trademark the 50+ Forum?

Good choice of bikes. My wife has one, and you will love it. If you ever get that N+1 itch, you will want to keep this bike for a variety of purposes.

Mostly, have fun and ride lots.

Buddy of mine bought a 7300 last year and loves it. It's as nice as my older 7500 which I like, too.

Enjoy the riding. Oh, and pics when you get a chance.

Gotta agree.

I rode my Trek 7300 for 2000 miles in six months last summer, including several centuries. I've since graduated to the harder stuff (road bike), but I still love the Trek.

I'm pretty sure our tires are safe.

You realize, of course, that if you do that we are going to bore you to death with multiple threads about the advantages and disadvantages of using CO2 vs. various types of air pumps.

We don't get mad, we get even.

Oh no, not the 7300 :D
