Post-A-Pic IV: The Redemption
 

Here we go again. Use this thread to post One or two pictures from a recent ride. Minimal narrative. Just good pictures to make us all jealous.

I had the chance to do a "training ride" for AIDS/LifeCycle8 last weekend. It started at at the Marin County side of the Golden Gate Bridge and proceeded through Tiburon and back. I stretched it to 50 miles. This is me at the start:

I posted these elsewhere, but I like them a lot. Saturday's ride, 85 miles with 7300 feet of climbing. No, it wasn't cold.

The temps topped 50 today, so I got ready and tried to take a ride, but ...

Now that is just too weird.

Ah yes, the little know "Madison Faultline" swallows another unsuspecting cyclist!!

Except for the 7300 feet of climbing, I would have LOVED to be on that ride.

Slim, it might sound corny but that was one of those rides where everything goes right to make it memorable. Well, almost everything, I did have a little stomach issue. The right people, a great road, and perfect weather!

So is this your only bike without a kickstand? It doesn't seem to need one.

Took a ride out to the lake but it was simply too cold to remove the leg and arm warmers. :innocent:

Lake Parris. I live close to Diamond Lake but that is more of a MTB ride if you take the trail around it. From my house to Lake Parris and back is 45 miles.

Saturday afternoon about 1:30pm. 75 degrees F. About 5 miles from my front door.

Sunday calls for more of the same, weather-wise. We'll be heading out for a MTB ride at Dauset Trails, near Jackson, GA. Probable stop at Fresh Air BBQ for some pulled pork.

From a 23 mile ride in Lancaster County, PA, two weeks ago. My riding companions, both young fellows, stopped near a 200 year old mill building:

From a 30 mile ride a month ago. My bike parked near a piece of machinery from the former Phoenix Steel plant in Phoenixville, PA.

Sometime in the next century, when Chester County finally completes the Schuylkill River Trail, you will be able to ride across this bridge and all the way to Reading.

From my local ten mile loop, about a month ago:

French Creek from the side of the Kennedy Covered Bridge in East Vincent Township (constructed 1856, destroyed by fire 1986, reconstructed from the original plans 1987):

Crossing a steel grate bridge over French Creek in East Vincent Township. This was the site of a covered bridge until Obam-, err, Roosevelt's 'stimulus' plan of construction projects brought down the wooden span in 1936. Of the six French Creek covered bridges, three survive (Rapp's Dam, Kennedy, and Sheeder-Hall.)

Last Tuesday I took a nice ride through Arches National Park. I rode from Moab to the park, then to the end of the road and back for 50 miles. Arches is a nice ride, you're either going up or down, 8 or 38 mph. One of the most beautiful rides in the west! High temp during this ride was 75 degrees.

The day before I rode into Canyonlands NP, Island in the Sky district. I rode from highway 191 to Grandview Point and back for 70 miles. The name of "Grandview" is a bit of an under statement.

All these Old buildings you have make me jealous. Most- but not all- of our old ones are falling down.

The castle was built around 1066 AD and is a bit delapidated- but was built on the remains of a Roman fort from around 100 AD- so I blame the Italians for the poor foundations.

Sure, we have many buildings much older than 200 years, many older than the fine ones you post Stapfam. The thing is if they were not build by someone of European background, they don't exist.
Here is a good example of a building constructed by native people, doesn't look like the work of savages to me.

We were on that same ride with Curtis. Temps were 50*, warming up to 60-ish, the almond orchards in full bloom, with cherry, apricot and some peach and plum orchards following suit.
