Be vewy, vewy afwaid!

Yes, this is the year...

September 11th of 2009 will not only commemorate the tragedy of 9/11/2001, but it will also usher in a new tragedy of truly epic proportions...Chipcom turns 50.

I'm warning you all now, and I'll make sure to give you periodic warnings between now and then, so you can use this grace period to age much faster (if applicable) to qualify for and start a 60+ forum. You thought Pcad was bad? Pcad is wussy. Be afwaid, vewy, vewy afwaid, you wascally fossils!

We older folks don't scare easily:D

Turned 50 4 years ago...growing old ain't for the weak of heart---just getting out of bed in the morning is an adventure. Still don't feel any younger, say,...than 48, though.

I will come to your door dressed as the reaper... on a bike, of course)

That's because you have forgotten how...in addition to forgetting your name and where the potty is. :D

Hey I'm ready for it...but when you come, please bring a list of all the good buffets that give senior discounts.

BengeBoy 03-07-09 10:45 AM

This is pretty difficult news to wake up to. I'm going back to bed.

stapfam 03-07-09 10:48 AM

So how are you going to aclimatise to this "Elite" forum?

You do realise that It does take some training to let the "Young" bloods set the pace and disapear into the distance on the century rides. Thats takes a lot of will power to do but the longer you can hold on before you overtake them- the better it pi**es them off.

Then there is the Colonoscopy- Are you ready for one yet?

And then there is PIE. No need to mention this as you have been a lurker for too long- but what is your PIE of Choice?

I would say welcome- but there is no need to say that to an old face- and an even older member.

Digital Gee 03-07-09 10:51 AM

There goes the freakin' neighborhood. :(

I'm not sure I could drive the property values any lower than they sank when you moved in, Gary. :p
Now get off my lawn!

You notice how some of the youngsters come to this forum full of p**s and vinegar but in time lose their vinegar and show their true colours.Maturity is how you accept that fact, some of us never accept!

No, I think they lose their p**s, too, as Jean pointed out earlier in this thread.

I'm doing a ride out your way this summer. Rails to Trails Sojurn. Any of it near you?

Just you wait.

maddmaxx 03-07-09 01:46 PM

I for one am willing to welcome Chip. I've already entered his name in an AARP raffle.

I expect once you get here Chip that you avitar's wig will begin to show a bit of blue tint.

Yeah, right.

So more on topic, what's your favorite kind of pie?

Cleave 03-07-09 02:17 PM

Hi chipcom,

These kind folks have already had several visits from pcad so I think they're more than ready for you. ;)

Now if Rich in Peoria shows up that will be a different story.

europa 03-07-09 02:38 PM

We were going to make this a +51 forum weren't we?

Richard

I'm more interested in his fashion tips. Given the pictures he's posted here, I think we could be crossing some kind of frontier soon.

Louis 03-07-09 03:17 PM

I go for my regular colonoscopy in April. How 'bout I post pictures here so you can see just what you're in for...for the rest of your life.:twitchy:

Welcome to the 50+ life.:p

Velo Fellow 03-07-09 03:22 PM

More likely, congrats on making 50 and still being "out there" as opposed to sunk into recliner chair petrefaction. Consider the endless road before you...all those sweet miles beckoning to you. At 61, I enjoy (and appreciate) those miles rolling by more than ever.

You lucky road dawg.....the best is yet before you!!

FOLKS, WE HAVE A SERIOUS ISSUE HERE: ACCORDING TO A SEARCH, CHIPCOM (HEREINAFTER KNOWN AS "CHEATCOM") HAS BEEN CHEATING ALL ALONG, WITH 402 POSTS ALREADY IN THE 50+ FORUM AND, YES, I AM CAPITALIZING THESE SENTENCES BECAUSE WE NEED TO SHOUT THIS TO THE WORLD.

FOLKS - DO WE LET A CHEATER INTO OUR MISTS, OR SHOULD WE DO A BLACKBALL - IGNORING ALL FUTURE POSTS?

Allegheny Jet 03-07-09 04:21 PM

Chipcom,

Avoid the pie at all cost. It is possible to do so.

Thank you for the "fair warning".

Ya doing RATL next month?
