Finally Got Out!

When you live in the northeast (and especially at the eastern end of lake dreary)spring can never come soon enough.
New year..New Club!
Showed up to find somewhere between 30 and 40 riders assembling (when you've belonged to a small club for years, this is overwhelming ))
Most were 'over 50' and most had fantastic (early Tom Kellogg Merlin, S*G Viscount sans the death fork, a late 70s Bob Jackson, Colnago super...the list went on and on)vintage bikes. (If you're a gearhead, and love vintage bikes this was nirvana!)
So; there we were doing a respectable 16+, I'm third from the front. I'd ridden the day before and wasn't sure the legs had another 30 in em.
I hear "On Your Left" and just barely got my head turned enought o catch the second pack of Buffalo Cycling Club riders blowing past. 75 riders in all.
Gist I got was they were in training for the 'Under 4' (which I believe is linked to the Tour de Cure). 100 miles in under 4 hours.
Amazing part was; the pace in our club picked up and remained at 17-18 for the rest of the ride.
Did a rest stop and was pleasantly surprised to have one of the long time club members come up and ask the new 'kids' to join them at their table..nice touch.
So snow is back in the forecast..
Cycling season has a foothold..this is the year for the 5K ))

Yup, it's good to be out again on the bike.
Did that group of 75 ride by all at once?
The club that I ride with has a rule limiting the size of a group to a maximum of 12 riders. We leave one group at a time from the start point. This policy was adopted for safety reasons.
