A true 50+ moment

I don't think I posted this before but if so it's worth a repeat.

I helped put on the Senior Cycling TT's for Mecklenburg and surrounding counties at Lowes Motor Speedway last week. The event consisted of 3 races-a 1 mile, 5k and 10k. There were ALL types of riders partcipating including the skin suit/aero crowd up to folks riding cruisers with baskets wearing blue jeans and work gloves. I suspect the average age was 65+??

After the 1 mile event, an elder gentleman decided to take a quick nap before the next event. He never showed up for the 2nd event.......he napped right through it!!!

We got a good chuckle out of that one at the track. However, my goal is to get as laid back as that fellow one day!!

Could be that his dreams during nap time had him winning the event. You know a good nap can produce some impressive results.

At what age does a nap become a right, and not a privilege?

I vote for 50.

I like naps - but it's like yawning - thanks a lot - now all I'm gonna think about is napping but I have to ride home in 45 minutes!

I've been reading a lot about brevets and that's the first thing I think of, is how can they stay awake so long.

Was he really that laid-back, or was he just exhausted after riding one mile?
