Do they send you a 1099?

Congratulations!!

Not yet, the entry fee was $12. Do I report a profit of $2? Can I use the profit towards a Zipp 404 wheelset and claim depreciation?

Heck yeah it sure is!

It's been threatening rain all day so I've stayed indoors. Maybe I'll get my ride in tomorrow if I can stay focused. This age-related ADHD is a bear.

One thing I've noticed, which I think I picked up here: on my rides I try to keep my cadence up fairly high. It hasn't translated into more speed up hills yet (I just need to lose weight. Ho hum.) but I can tell that I go faster on the flats.

I'd love to race, but my goals would be be very modest: not to finish DFL (dead flashy last).

In my first races I had the same goal. Then the goal was to keep from going OTB for 1/2 the race. As long as you want to beat someone, anyone, you're racing. When you start to plot how you will beat "that guy", you become a racer.:D
