We haven't done this for a while. If you have a picture or two that you would like to post, but don't have a long Ride Report to go along with them, post those pictures here. Add just a SHORT explanation.

Here's a picture from today's 50-miler. There were ten of along, and the pace seemed to be a little quicker than usual.

This image was posted on the Great Lakes Forum by a member who also raced in the Fort Cherry Race in SW PA on Sunday. I'm not riding off the road! It is the final turn onto the finish straight. The race finished going up a steep 1/2 mile hill then turned into a High School Parking lot. I rode the Master's 45+ race and stayed with what was left of the field until the final hill. I attemped to ride the hill in the big ring but couldn't match the pace of the 8 or 9 guys left in the field. When I shifted to the little ring I couldn't get into a bigger cog fast enough and got gapped in an instant. Dejected and blownup, I just followed the field and finished about 50 yards back of the last guys in the field. At 186 lbs the venue was not to my benefit, but I did well by staying within the group and even leading, up the bigger hill on the 5 lap 40 mile race course which was termed as a "short power climb".

No recent ones but a before and after- Well 65 mile and 100.

Why do I always look older at the end of a ride?

It has something to do with the passage of time. You've never been older than you are right now.

The jersey you're wife is wearing looks to be from my bicycle club ACTC in San Jose.

No, that photo was taken at the town square of Celina, which is the ride start and finish of the Bobcat Bite 103k permanent that we rode.

I picked it up for next to nothing on ebay and my wife immediately claimed it.

WOW. What a flashback. These photos remind of my one and only bike trip in Nebraska. We rode from just south of Omaha to Blue Springs (I could live in Blue Springs in a minute). Miles and miles of flat with fields of milo on either side and the occasional police car hidden at a crossroads. It was a fun ride; thanks for triggering those memories.

Racing at the San Diego Velodrome in the B group. I was the oldest in the group last night, but never last in the 3 races plus warmup burnout! Some of the racers are amazed that I'm 51. They all tell me they want to be that fast when they're that old, .

I envy you, Hemes and Velodiva, track racing looks to be loads of fun and offers new challenges. But my wife would most likely pull the plug on any "next level must have's". I did slip cyclocross racing in when she had a weak moment last fall.

The track scene here in San Diego is very supportive. The SDVA just started Friday Night Racing in addition to the regular Tuesday Night Racing for Sprinter, Women, D class (new racers) and juniors. Friday night is low-keyed and some of us who race on Tues come out and help/encourage on Fri.

Here's a couple from this morning. I managed to slip out for a short ride before too many people were out and about. Both these are from within the city limits less than 1/2 mile from my home. Focus is an issue at 16X zoom...sorry 'bout that.
