Only 20 miles....

....but it was a very rewarding 20 miles.

Here's a picture of the ruins of the Refectory in Durand Eastman Park overlooking the lakeshore. Back in the '70's my wife and I bush-whacked to the ruins and explored but now, as you can see it's been turned into a bit of a sight-seeing spot.

The port is actually hosting a cruise vessel today. This is indeed a rare occurance and worthy of notation.

This picture from the pier shows that the beach is nicely groomed and ready to host bathers and sun worshippers.

After leaving the immediate beach and port area I happened upon a nice Gent on a Rans SWB. We stopped and shared mutual admiration for each other's ride (I was on the EZ Sport today) and we each rode away 45 minutes later having made a new freind.

It was a great 20 miles indeed.

Nice to see the port in use, even if it is only a Coast Guard inspection stop.

I miss the ferry…
