I did a short ride this evening, just over 10 miles. 2 miles of which were up a mountain that in places runs 14% grade. About kicked my ass TBH. I kinda lied to myself that I would just ride up for awhile til it got to much, just to see how the climb was.....I don't think I'll ever believe myself again.

88 mile Labor Day Ride. Perfect weather. I rode 10 miles over and back to the start of a 67 mile group ride. Good sized group, 37 riders. Nice rolling hills, about 3700’ of hills. We basically rode from a Trek bike shop in one town over to it’s sister store about 35 miles away then back on a different route. A few riders near the back got tangled up with the slinky effect of bigger groups and hills, but no one hit the ground thank goodness. We rode by the spot where the gravel in the road took me down 2 years ago resulting in a broken hip and a hip replacement. Fortunately eased right by it today!! Good weekend of riding, about 210 miles over 2 rides.

Just met up with my sister and went for a real quick, 6 mile out 'n back ride, out in West Creek Pkwy business complex, west of Richmond, VA. My sister has one of those ladies "townie" bikes as she calls it, and is only a 6 or 7 speed. 9-10 mph is about all she does, so that was fine. I kept my C&V '85 Fuji on the lower front crank (42T) and the rear 22T (3rd sprocket) on the Suntour freewheel. I pedaled, coasted, pedaled, coasted, etc... and just enjoyed the ride...

6 mile out 'n back, 37:44 time, 9.6 mph...

Edit: Sorry... I shouldn't talk like this, after 35 wonderful years, but I'm just one of those husbands, who's wife just WILL NOT go out riding. It takes an act of God, just to get her to go 1½ miles around the neighborhood.

No, and I blame Trek’s Arvada saddle on my 2019 Trek Marlin 7. I’ve been unable to ride comfortably for a few days. Even though I’ve replaced it with a padded replacement It will still be a little time before I will be comfortable sitting on it.

it’s a shame because I’ve suffered the saddle for 2 years now and just put on new tires and a chain guide.

Well, my Trek Domane SL7 with discs and Di2 arrived yesterday, and I picked it up at the LBS. Today was a 32 mile inaugural ride in the mountains. I’m running 32mm tubeless, so I was eager to see how it did ‘under pressure’, as the hills, steep grades, wicked descents, and rough tarmac are a real test of a bike’s character, especially with speed.

The bike exceeded my high expectations, in a nutshell. Very smooth, very stable, and surprisingly a very good climber😊. Trek really got this frame geometry right with the high stack, low BB, and long wheelbase for stability and comfort. I was originally going to take this bike to FL as a replacement of my old Domane (which needs a new groupset - long story), and keep the Bianchi in VA. Now I’m not so sure.

I think this latest Domane will end up being the pinnacle of my road bike purchases, but who knows..........

I don’t post a lot in this section, but I’m averaging about 700 miles per month, so lots of bike time for social distancing. I’m sure like many here, it’s been a great way to maintain my sanity.

Yikes! I have a friend who lives in Saratoga and I'm unsure of what the conditions are in his area. Hopefully it's no where near as bad as what you are experiencing.

On the other end of the spectrum, portions of our fair province near the foothills have already seen snow.

Rode 60k along Hwy 1A from the Townsite of Banff, AB to Lake Louise Village. A section of this old highway was closed giving cyclists carte blanche without having to fret over vehicular traffic.Awesome feeling having cycled this road as it's fate as a car- free zone remains tentative at best.

26 miles.- weather was close to perfect!

22 miles, sunny, more wind than I like, needed a long sleeve jersey over my short sleeve jersey to be marginally comfortable in high 60s. I used to prefer cooler weather, and I wish I still did. I've been off the bike due to a bad reaction to a flu shot and cold rain. Glad I rode today, as usual.

Here with my 14 yo. nephew in Farquier County, VA. He’s already 6’ and a great rider.

After more than a week of bad air quality, I finally got a nice 26 miler gravel ride today. It was damp and dirty but I like to play dirty!

I'm 72 and still commuting to work by bike here in nyc. Saw this in the towpound. Nice solid boat and nice artwork too! Were I younger I would see if auctioned and put in a bid. But I don't need anymore hobbies

Grey skies but I headed out anyway. Got about a mile from home and felt some drops, so I decided to loop back and stay close and maybe it would pass. Got half way home and then the skies opened and I got soaked.

But I did get 2 miles in. Guess i'll clean the bike and just do double the miles tomorrow.

Rode a 70k loop along rural roads from my home out towards the towns of Joffre and Blackfalds, AB. Lots of crop harvesting going on as we close in on the fall season. A slight haze of smoke blown in from the US wildfires could be seen during my ride. Otherwise if was a pleasant day to be out.

I did a 20 mile ride to pick up some USDA Prime strip steaks and 2 bottles of good Italian wine. I'll need to do a 50 mile ride tomorrow to get it back off.

Rather windy ride along Lake Norman while visiting with the mother-in-law in NC. Fall weather is here, as temps in the low 60s felt cooler with the persistent winds. Logged in 34 miles with the new Domane.

Hooked on the wide (32mm) tubeless tires running lower pressures. Doubt I’ll be going back to tubes and 28s again.

Smoke from all the wildfires cleared out and I took advantage (even if it was windy)

12 miles with over half being against a headwind... but smoke free outside so I took advantage of that. Blood Pressure right now is 117 / 76
