A few photos from today’s 82 mile ride from my house.

Kannapolis Trolley.....mask up!!

Zebras were out today!

A golf hole from Foxwood Golf Course which has been closed for several years. My father-in-law and I played there some time ago. It wasn’t a memorable course.

Lunch....the footlong special!

An interesting vine covered house that’s definitely seen it’s better days, but still has a lot of character. It would take a lot of courage to trick or treat at that house. Maybe we’ll see it in a Horror flick**********

Took the ferry from Bridgeport, CT to Port Jefferson, NY on Long Island. 63 miles to Fire Island National Seashore and back, Weather was in the 50s and a little breezy, not too bad for mid November.

It's depressing to see the large number of abandoned houses, some like the one above seem too nice to let waste away. The old NASA looking silo from today's ride has seen better days too

November weekends have all been great so far - from today's +60° ride, 40 miles

Got in my easiest 20 miler from home. Been quite a few days since last ride so I just cruised before the final uphill slog.

lugged steel, compact crankset, tubular wheels. Possibly time for a different saddle. Probably Selle SMP something.

nice paceline!

That house had to be a nice “mansion” not that long ago. The picture doesn’t really capture it but it’s a big brick house with small wings on each side partially hidden by the trees. It’s a real shame someone just let it go. It has 5 acres but is in an awful location now. It’s on a 4 lane highway east of Salisbury.

We both know it is mostly - The Tale of the Tarmac.
But I do what I can,.....

which most easily accomplished with light wheels and good tubular tires.

edit:
Actually, the other Ergo equipped bikes are CF & Ti, so it's all pretty smooth.
And everyone knows :p , all those vintage 70s+80s lugged steelies weren't stiff,
and never attract any attention :twitchy: .
Therefore, my roadie life is just one of a smoother kroozer..

November 25, 2020, Tuesday was COLD and Windy with some very light snow showers but today, (Wed. 25), was quite nice, just a bit nippy at mid to high 40 F's and sunny with almost no wind!! Headed out to just pick up different area urban trails, back streets and bike lanes to get in a couple hour ride, 17 miles RT. Still trying to get use to my "new to me", 2007 Electra Townie 21d, coming from a recumbent trike the "sitting position" will take a bit of getting use to but still had a very enjoyable ride!

60 miles in gorgeous FL weather. I hope it continues! This ride puts me above 8,000 miles for the year. I’ve broken in two fantastic bikes - Domane and Infinito, both disc and Di2.

Mid November Ride

I hit the local trails a couple of days ago and managed to get a video of part of my ride. This was the first time for me using an action camera as well as video editing and the final product turned out better than I thought that it would. We’ve had a decent amount of snow over the past several weeks which created a relatively pristine setting for the shoot.

Exceptional mileage.
19mph does not leave much time for stopping, but = Any pictures?

I want to live a couple of years in your area and nearby.
Are Gibraltar visits allowed?

Many visits to Rota.
Couple auto trips along the Spanish coast.
Yum, nice port wines. And others, too.

I will search your prior posts for pics.

Nice 55 mile Thanksgiving day ride from the house to the in-laws on High Rock Lake. Very light traffic today. Thankful for another safe ride and having the health to still pedal along.

I just don’t seem to be able to cross over the lake without stopping for a picture?!?! Now I can enjoy that extra dessert!

Throwback Gaston County jersey....with the wet roads was hoping to keep my newer ones clean???

Sunshine never made an appearance.

Well, I’d planned to do a longer ride but kept piddling around until it was mid morning. But I got dressed and put on my cycling shoes. When I stood up the dreaded back spasms hit instantly. Geez. I still rode 33 miles but couldn’t really stand up out of the saddle. I get these darn things about 2-3 times a year. I can’t stand completely upright and walk around like a 100 year old........and it usually takes 5-7 days to get to the point I can play golf again. The thing that helps the most is blasting really hot water on it to loosen it up.

Ah, rarely take pictures, most of my rides are training so stopping to take pictures isn't really something I do unless I'm out mountain biking as a recovery ride, then I do.
I've never been to Gibraltar, only Spain, which is fantastic cycling country, but so is Portugal and here in the Algarve, you can cycle all year round, great climate.

Heading out soon...

New to my neighborhood and am working out some routes. Heading out soon... Also going to try 10 sec riding hard, 1 min off per some health suggestions.

ultrarider7 11-28-20 06:43 PM

Three days, three rides. 53, 41 and 50 miles today. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to turn cold, so this may be it for the season. 6,183 outdoor miles for 2020. My best season ever.

camjr 11-29-20 12:47 PM

Cold, damp, drizzle, and a stout north wind. Chased by a mastiff mix. 20 miles. Still a good day on the Motobecane's saddle in Lewisville, TX.
