First ride today since the crash and pelvic fracture on 12/20/20. Just used the drop bar conversion 1993 Trek 950 mtb and rode the stretch of street (including a small hill) in front of our house 5 times - probably 2 miles, maybe a little more, in total. Once situated on the saddle I was fine (the "sit bone" fracture hasn't been bugging me until sitting on the saddle) and the leg is definitely weak. But, it was a huge change in progress. PT starts Wednesday.

Did 11.49 miles for my second outing of the year. I picked up the pace a bit but didn't push too hard. I'll probably do one more at this pace, see how my lower part likes it, then go from there.

Never seen one anywhere. Raised as a weekly attending Lutheran (LCA) in TN in 50s & 60s. Traveled & lived widely since and never spotted one. Must be a new thing.

Took a comfort bike for first long ride in quite a while.
531DB, 27mm tubulars, frame on the large side of 'fits gloriously' - is that French Fit?
Been hiking a bunch, but nothing on the bike over a couple of miles.
Just short of 25, over to Issaquah.
A few stops. Totally wonderfully uneventful. Home safely after a good bit of traffic in stretches.

83 AustroDaimler Vent Noir, 27mm VeloFlex tubulars, comfy Selle Anatomica saddle

Some flooded fields in the lowest spots

No shoulder. Blue sky.

Tiger Mt Paragliding landing zone. Lots of fliers today.

A final good thought and sweet miles for you.

First outdoor ride of 2021. 35 miles of slop, ice patches and people walking on the bike paths.

Well today it's cloudy, chilly and the say it will rain, then turn into snow this afternoon, we did get lucky as we had 2 nice days in a row (Tue/Wed), 60 F, sunny, just a bit of wind!
We rode 23 miles on Tue. and 18 miles on Wed., it was sure nice to ride "without" the jackets, been a while!! It's very rare to get these kinda days in March in So. CO. as it's normally our 2nd. snowiest month of the year so we just had to ride! On Tues. ride we went to check out to see if they'd actually done any repairs to the Homestead Trail heading east off the Cottonwood Creek Trail but all the sudden I couldn't shift off the big ring? Tried to adjust the derailleur but it won't work, loosen the wire so I could get the chain back on the middle chain wheel and we headed back to stop at Angletech www.cycledifferent.com to see if Kirk could take a look and lucky for us we hit a none busy time. Wala found the "spring" had broken, no wonder I couldn't re-adjust it!!! Got it replaced and headed home. Will have to head back to Homestead Trail on a different day. Might be good by the weekend,

Tues. ride stopped at the "detour" route on the Sinton Trail

Weds. ride, stopped at Fields Park in Manitou Springs for our brown bag lunch!
A rare photo of ME!

Mid point of a roughly 30 mile ride. Look hard enough and you can see SF in the background.

Very nice day to be outside, wasn’t it? The sunshine makes a huge difference in how it feels.
Another ride up to the Darrs on High Rock Lake. 75 miles with over half of it into the wind. But, a really nice tailwind for 25 miles from Spencer to Denton.
To heck with Spring, I’m already ready for summer!!

A pretty heavy but tasty lunch. Western style NC chopped BBQ.

Took the safety green Cervelo disc out today for some road time.

More safety green clothing!!

Spring flowers

Meet Gilbert! Very friendly and quite the personality.

Daffodils were blooming everywhere.

Maybe more of a Southern thing??? We flew it at the Baptist Church I grew up in. I carried it into the church and put it in its stand near the pulpit. I still see them pretty frequently around NC.

Always glad to post this thread,......
........even if rain shortened. Not a rain rider. Especially when it may turn dry in 2 days.
Here’s the bike ridden, from a different day.

The twisty downhill was about to get wet, the tiny trailhead had hikers’ cars - Sat. Also, the neighborhood 1 hole (sand wedge + putters only) and associated house are for sale, original owners likely 25 years.

It turned Too wet. Home is slow uphill so no wet spray from tires. Any ride on a showery day is better than no ride! Even without pics..

If the house for sale comes with a golf hole I might just have to make a bid!!!! Actually we’re starting to build a house on a golf course. Plus nothing but flat roads for miles around it!

I worked with my granddaughter on riding without training wheels today. She has been resistant, but I explained that she has outgrown her bike and the next size up training wheels won't fit. In less than an hour, she was riding without training wheels and I was chasing her until I got one of my bikes out and we rode together. I don't know how far we rode, but we rode until dark. And we rode together and that made me happy.

About 20 miles to and around the mud lake trail outside North Sioux City S.D. Crushed limestone and wet sand made the first ride of the season a work-out. The bike needs a bath.
