Good for you, changing your setup to less racy. Even a month ago long rides were crippling me the day after, but today I'm just a bit sleepy. |
I got a very nice ride in today. It was also functional, I had to ride to work, which I usually do, but I left my bike at the mechanics. After work, I rode to my daughter's house, so I could have a picnic with my granddaughter outside at her house. Riding and grandchildren, life is good!

I rode to work today. It was a beautiful morning to be out riding. I tried adding in extra miles and did end up getting 2 extra miles but the road is limited in where it goes so if you ride on it there are no roads leading back in a short distance. It appears all you can do is turn around and go back the way you came. Which I did, but I was hoping to see more of the area. Anyway, on my way home after climbing a hill, there is an ice cream stand. Today was not a day though that I stopped for ice-cream. Rides must be longer than 20 miles I have decided to earn an ice-cream(unless you are a child, then the mileage is much lower).

Beautiful day in Wa state and knocked out 50 miles and 2,400’ climbing. Missed my turn and ended up on some 14% pitches - out of the saddle time. Took out my Wahoo/Zwift trainer bike and enjoyed the ride.

I had to get out early today if I wanted to ride. So I left the house at 8 am and rode for a 20 mile ride. The weather and riding were very nice. I did ride the bike path though, and I typically stay off the bike paths. But I wanted a ride that involved no thinking, just riding.

I'm still recovering from the bout of covid I had in early March and wanted to do the 16 mile road route with a few good climbs I typically like to on Saturday mornings but thought a 12 mile or so spin on the MUP that starts in my neighborhood would be best especially after scaring the heck out of a nurse a couple of weeks ago when he took my blood pressure. I wound up with 23 miles on my 43 year old hi-tensile boomer and probably could have doubled that had I been inclined.

Always thankful to post this thread
Not out too early, but ahead of the crowd - so a nice ride. Cool = 58* getting home @ 11:00.
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...7a747dc27.jpeg Time to saddle up….. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4d8e0553f.jpeg ….. even if you aren’t exactly a stallion anymore. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...aaefbf234.jpeg Post ride - but too early for a beer. Weeds to whack. |
Trying to get over a mental block to riding after a bad crash last June. Did 13 miles with 600+ feet of climbing today. It's a start.

Got a bonus ride in this afternoon with these two. The Tour de Neighborhood.
I'm thankful for every time they come to Meme and Papa's house that they want to ride bikes. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...75198fc9b.jpeg |
Yep.Come on. It's never too early for a beer wildwood.

jppe - give us a ride report. We miss 'em. or a golf score, if you must.

45km today at a strong pace. When the weather allows I head out to the cycling course at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. The course is mostly flat and winding, with a small descent followed by a small climb. I like to hit the course early as later in the day it gets a little busy with tourists and kids on the park’s rental bikes.
Today was Sunday, so the park was especially busy. Large groups of runners, a class teaching adults how to ride a bicycle, classes for music, dancing, frisbee, yoga, dog training, and so on. A lot of people wander onto the cycling course, so there is a little dodge’em from time to time. I hope to get in another 200km next werk. |
Went out this morning to do the 16 mile ride I talked about yesterday. I spent most of the time in the small chainring, coasted down most of the hills and Strava reported that it was equal to my slowest effort on that route and the Strava segments reflected that was well. However the climbs were not terrible. Overall I enjoyed it and expect to make it back close to how I used to ride it.

Nope, didn't ride today (5/28). Just got the OK from the eye doc Friday to resume normal activities, after having cataract surgery. Following his guidance to the t. Free from eyeglasses after wearing them for the last 69 years--YIPPEEE!!!! Raining here today but looking forward to spinning the pedals again.

Cape Cod
Rode the Cape Cod Canal bike path, which is about a 13 1/2 mile loop with a pretty steady 20 mile an hour headwind, and it seem like it was in both directions.

It has to lowered to accommodate any trains which nowadays is rare. I have ridden on a train over the canal. Beautiful day here on the Cape. |
Yep.

I rode yesterday, did a run down to a local diner then explored the area around it for a bit. Just 30km, but it was a fun little ride.
|
I rode to work at the assisted living today. The ride out this morning was so nice with cooler temps and blue skies. The ride home was slower but I went by a friend's house and she was out watering her garden so I stopped in to talk for a few.

Thankful to post this thread
Late morning start for a ride in the 50*s. Light winter bibs kept me warm. Wool jersey weather. The streak of dry & pleasant continues. Ride ‘em all.

Just a stop for a drink on the rare shoulder - the corner ahead is the only one with a right-of-rumble-strip space for bicycles. Appreciated on busier days. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f0aab6742.jpeg Calfee - 23 yo carbon frame - with upgraded (well, I think so) everything else |
hell yeah !

Got in a 16.5 mile ride today. Trying to work my way back up to the those 25-30 mile rides.
|
17 miles in low 80 degree weather. I think I've basically recovered from last month's bronchitis. I am looking forward to June riding.

42 miles, 2000’ climbing at 17 MPH ave speed. The temp was in the mid-60s which was perfect for me. Saw this bizarre road-side display.
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...9f09f7eda.jpeg Was riding my winter trainer bike but it needed to see the light of day. I think it is an Orbea. ;) https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...195f97d5d.jpeg |
