44.3 miles just before noon when the temp was suppsed to be 90* It was again way too hot but if you start early and rack up those miles, it wasn't bad.

Rode to and from work again today - very nice this AM and 92F this PM but didn't feel as hot as yesterday. Bike-commuting more because our Vibe remains in NH where it hit a deer 2 weeks ago. Trying to avoid renting a car before we get Vibe back after it is fixed.

100° when I got home and said "what the heck,I'm riding"
29%humidity so riding in the shade as much as I could and a breeze blowing it wasn't all that bad.
I had two bottles but think three would have been the ticket. I rode for 36 miles.

I did 10 Miles today. It was 92 when I started. As you can see in the pic to the right my road is partially shaded. The middle pic is of the road towards the end of that long straight away. It's a rough crossing. The pic on the left is at the end of the road. I did have a lot of Semi traffic as well as the Sheriff evecting a business from a warehouse. I don't know how hot it was when I ended. There was a 6 MPH breeze coming at me sideways. I wasn't going that fast but I could feel it.
You can also see in the pic to the right the end of the asphalt is a 2 inch drop. I'm forever going over the edge on that.

43 miles today. Had to wait until about 1pm for it to warm up. 69 degrees when i left. Wind finally blew away the clouds and the sun came out. Felt weak today. Didn't ride Monday, felt weak and achy. After about 24 miles started to feel better. Still somewhat of a mild struggle. Shake today (5.4 earthquake) went on for about 20 to 40 seconds, but no bake.

36.6 miles today. Humidity was 94% when I left and 60% when I got back. Temp in the mid 70s to mid 80s. Glad the temps are not up in the 90 like they are in the northeast. Very good ride today

Below are some photos taken from the bike mounted camera today. Some are photos of the highway portion of my ride and the others are pictures of the bike bridge over I4 in Lake Mary. I haven't seen anything exciting to take pictures of yet but you never know when an opportunity will present its' self, I plan to do the Withlacoochee Rails To Trails ride in Oct. so I should get some good photos then. My daughter says that if I show up with that thing on the front of my bike she will not ride with me. I guess I will be riding alone that day.

Kudos.
You gotta remember to take the lane UNLESS the road is wide enough to share with passing vehicles.

1.5 hr Z2 ride with my son. We are both racing in the Tour of the Valley (TOV) a stage race this weekend and today was just a little tune up ride. I'll be racing with the Master's 40+ field and he is in the P-1-2 field. Tomorrow is a 9 mile TT, Saturday a 33 mile road race and Sunday a 45 minute Crit in Downtown Youngstown. I'm expecting to have my hat handed to me by great racers who are up to 17 years younger, but will race the best I can for experience for the Masters Nationals.

Ron,
I didn't know I was supposed to, but to answer your question, no I haven't. That road is mostly Semi traffic and they just drive on the other side of the road. It's wider than it looks. This is an industrial park and most of the time I just pull into a driveway and get out of there way. If I took the lane I'd be a hood ornament on a Peterbuilt.

Today was just bad JuJu. I ran out of energy too fast. I had made a saddle adjustment that didn't work out. It was 95 degrees and just could not catch my breath and then 2 stray dogs showed up on the scene. I ended the trip with a distance of 6.778 miles. I think my Chi and my Wa was out of sync or something. Just frustrating.

7/9 No ride day
7/10 Yes
36.4 miles today. Humidity was 85% when I left and 61% when I got back. Temp in the mid 70s to mid 80s. It was a beautiful day in sunny Florida. Very good ride today
228.3 miles this month
3608 miles this year
119 ride days LY vs 118 ride days TY
3791 miles needed to hit 2010 goal (7500 miles)
I am @ 49% of my goal. I need to be @ 66.6% (5000 miles) by the end of August
260 miles ahead of last year at this date
Today's ride as seen thru the eyes of my bike reading from left to right:
1. Some new homes that are being built along my way prices starting at a1/2 a million, any takers?
2. This is the back of a horse ranch called Painted Dreams at the intersection of Lake Sylvan Rd and lake Markum Rd. Photos do not do this place justice.
3. This the front of the horse ranch called Painted Dreams. I have no idea the price of this place but it is way, way more than a 1/2 a million.
4 & 5. Some of the Painted Dreams horses.
6. This is a group that passed me on Lake Sylvan Rd at about the speed of sound, but I caught them at the next intersection.
7. It didn't take long for them to drop me again. (I think they had to be doping so I am claiming foul)
7/10 Yes

48 miles today. Sorry, no pictures to post my ride like kjc. And those are nice pics and nice route with less vehicular traffic. My ride this morning was through a MUP, sidestreets and less travelled highways.

15 brisk suburban miles as the sun set last nite and then, this morning, 30 miles on the tandem with the wife/stoker - our first significant tandem ride of the year. She's coming back strong from surgery 3 months ago. Our youngest son (22) accompanied us on his longest ride ever and his first club ride. . He now knows what a Dan Henry is and who he was, more or less. My hybrid is feeling less neglected with my son on it.

Wife recovering from sinus surgery did 9 miles today, including one short steep hill which is always a challenge for her, which she pedaled right up without a "by your leave." Not too bad for 72.5 yo and just three weeks out from the major sinus surgery!!

Today was the One Helluva Ride. It used to go to Hell Michigan, but the road to Hell hasn't been repaved in years and finally got so bad they took it off the ride. Instead we went through Gregory, a few miles from Hell. The ride started on good roads with lots of low rolling hills. I passed a large group of Wolverines (Wolverine Sports Club) on the way out of town, and they fell back out of sight. When the hills got a bit bigger, they finally caught back up. They were running 25+ mph on the flats, so I glommed on. Turns were tough - I had to really sprint to get back on the end. Being at the back, anytime someone dropped, I had to pass them and ungap myself. One rider who dropped had a custom side panel on his club jersey. It read, "frankieandreau.com." I sure hope it was him (yes, he's a member,) because I passed him and ungapped myself that time, too.
Lunch was at 50 miles. At that point my average was 23+ mph, but I was already starting to feel tired. After lunch was the headwind section. There wasn't a lot of wind, but it was just enough to make 20+ mph hard to maintain. I was about ten miles from the last rest stop when the Wolverines caught back up to me. So, I sucked in again. They gapped me on a couple of steeper hills, because my legs were losing their spring, but I kept them close enough that I caught them at the traffic light immediately before the rest stop. At the stop, I felt light-headed, so I stayed in the shade a while and drank as much water and Gatorade as I could hold. I finally got cooled off and was able to continue - slowly at first, but I sped back up when I made the final turn with the wind and onto a series of low rollers. I rang my handlebar bell a lot on that stretch!
Final stats for the ride were 94.5 miles and 21.3 mph, with a top speed of 38.2 mph; and the temp when I finished was an even 90F. Somehow I missed the little loop that would have made the ride a century. But I ain't going back for it!
