32 very warm but nice miles with over 3300 feet of climbing in the Southern California mountains. Great day. Pictures are of my fellow rider, Mr Beanz, who by the way is not quite yet 50, but my being 55 more than makes up the difference.

About 12 miles tonite after work. A vigorous ride is much more fun when it's not gawdawful hot.

A year-to-date PR today! My standard 17 miler done in 56:19, which is the fastest I've done it in a long time. World record PR is 54:38 in 2007, so I've got a long way to go to beat it, but I'm pretty happy about it today.

52 miles today, overcast at the start, sunny at the end. Went north today over Santa Fe Dam and up to Hwy 39. 80 degrees. The surf contest was all blocked off, waves looked normal. Last time i took pictures of the wild life the Mrs. frowned big time at them, even though my bike was in front, so no pics, sorry.

Leave the bike out of them and stop being coy, she knows what you are doing. This time tell her it is for your family at BF and not for you.

36.9 miles today
174.1 miles this month
4291 miles this year
131 ride days LY vs. 136 ride days TY
3209 miles needed to hit 2010 goal (7500 miles)
I am @ 57% of my goal. I need to be @ 66.6% (5000 miles) by the end of August
489 miles ahead of last year at this date
It looks as if I may be about 200 miles short of my goal (5000 miles) for the end of August.

Nice controlled 34 miles with a one hour Z3 interval in the middle. Tonight was one of those days, I felt like a machine attached to the bike, everything was firing really, really good. I hated to shut down the interval because it was going so well.

None today. Tomorrow a 50 mile hill ride with my 19 year old son. He makes the summit and doesn't drop me. But age and experience get him on the high speed downhills and I don't drop him after a 45 mph descent. So we're even. 8)

Some rides are just not as good as others. Climbing out of the neighborhood, wth, break pad is rubbing on rear wheel. Fix. Get to group ride. Flat tire leaving the parking lot. Fix. Group drops me, no big deal. Ride 39 miles. Get home rear blinkie is missing from frame. Take rear wheel off to change tire. Rear rim is bent and wheel out of true a bit. Can swear on a stack of Bibles did not hit anything but the RR tracks crossed are a mess.

18 miles to and from work today. Very pleasant temp and humidity - feels good to ride harder than on the nasty hot days.

Friday, 32 miles. Nothing special, I did change route a little for something different though, that is always a nice thing. Weather was 90° with 49% humidity. Actually felt pretty nice while riding in the shade.
Changing tho my normal route changed my normal mileage too, usually 35-36 miles.

In hindsight, the original plan to start the 32 mile ride at 7am was probably better than the actual 1pm start. But what's a few buckets of sweat compared to sleeping late and having a big breakfast and lazy morning with the family?

20 miles on a new route in perfect weather. It was the kind of blissful ride that reminds why I like cycling so much. Even a fall off my bike going up a hill didn't dampen the spirit, probably because there were no handsome young witnesses, injuries or photos of my spill.

Usual weekend morning ride (four and a half miles up the hill, four and a half down) with Madame Pobble. This being avocado season we kept an eye on the roadside and came down with a baker's dozen:

Looks like we're in for a lot of California rolls in the near future

First ride after an almost two-month summer hiatus (due to extreme temperatures and hectic summer "schedule"). Rode my Ciocc on the windtrainer for 35 minutes. Warmed up for four minutes then rode at tempo in 56.9 inch gear for six minutes. Did three sets of four minute intervals pushing 63.6 inch gear at 85 to 90 rpm cadence with four minute recoveries in between. Burned apx. 300 calories according to livestrong.com. Felt good after ride - great to be back in the saddle again!

NealH and I rode a classic local route from town, 106.8 miles and 9800' of climbing. We certainly didn't get cheated of this ride!
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/43545304
The Garmin reports slightly over 10K' of climbing. Yowza. It had a few dropouts so the distance is a bit short.

42 miles after a lousy golf game. Had fun on both though so all is good. 85° with 59% humidity made for a enjoyable ride. I saw lots of deer and a dead fox, poor fella was a bit too slow crossing the road I reckon.

57 miles today, 38 yesterday. Little overcast, 65 degrees at the start, 78 at the finish. Bit of a breeze at the end. Enjoying this weather while i can, don't know when the real heat will show up. This is August and it seams like early June.
