In between the winter days and snow forcast for next week there was today. 60 degrees and sunny.
Fortunately, my last employer had the wisdom to lay me off for New Year's, so I had nothing better to do this afternoon than take a ride.
It turned out to be a twenty mile ride down the River Trail, over the Big Dam Bridge and into North Little Rock.
I saw a fellow and his son on a tandem with a low-rider style springer front end riding along the trail. About an hour later we met up and in talking with him it turned out that he also has a bicycle made for six.
The end of the ride is a steep 300 ft climb, but I realized today that the new Two Rivers Bridge that they are building along the River Trail will soon allow me to swap that climb for a few miles detour that will climb the the hill much more slowly and allow me to get to the natural parts of Two Rivers Park much more quickly.

Yes I did and it was a great day, about 72 degrees and no wind to speak of. Did 64 miles but can't give a Garmin link as it went missing off my bike last week. I been bidding on E-bay for another one but I keep getting out bid.

Great ride yesterday but better ride today. Temperature was in the low 50s (11C) yesterday and low 60s (17C) today.
It was very windy both days but I just had to ride. Rode the Litespeed yesterday and the Specialized today. I was glad for the lower gears on the Specialized.
Saw John Marsh out at Stone Mountain and talked with him for a few minutes. He's a really nice guy. He's the new owner of the Road Bike Rider website and weekly email newsletter. He said the website and weekly newsletter will be getting a complete revamp in the next week or so. I'm looking forward to that.

Temp up into the 30s today and the ice/snow/slush finally melted from our neighborhood's streets. Was able to take the new tandem (Screamer) on it's maiden ride: A few blocks all by myself - everything seems to work correctly.
Also rode the V-Rex 3 miles and then, later, took the V3 on a 7 mile ride. Is it almost Spring yet?

Led a 44 mile club ride with about 2000' of climbing. Easy pace, country scenery, temps 50-55 with a bit of a breeze. There may be a spot of rain on the way.

Beautiful day here FINALLY! NealH and I got out for a 58+ mile ride in the "valley" in sunny low 60s conditions. We had just over 4300' of climbing in 4:12 ride time. Lots of very steep short climbs today including a half mile at 12%. Wore me out.

Did a training ride today for my first century that happens in two weeks. We did 76 miles and climbed about 3,400 ft. It was a beautiful day the ride was great except for the Garmin 800 battery sputtering out about 75% of the way. Luckily we were on the way back to the start, so missing the navigation wasn't the issue it would have been on the outbound leg since this was a new route for us. Ran into fellow BFer Yen, almost literally, at a left turn signal. It was great to see her and I hope that darn rotator cuff injury heals quickly - we miss riding with her.

44 (I think) miles, with 2300 feet of climbing in the first half. Finally got above the fog line and into the sun, at least for a little while. A great day to be on the bike.

Comparatively warm day - low to mid 20s. Did about 27 miles on the snow bike on roads and trails. Some of the trails in St. Paul are in terrible condition - too many runners and too few bikes have made a dimpled surface that saps all of one's momentum. Other places, the trails are bare pavement and so are the roads.
Tomorrow we go back to colder conditions - 8-16 °F during the late morning/early afternoon. I'll do my semi-regular winter club ride. I'm really looking forward to some milder weather in February...

We had a small group and did about 80 miles in the local mountains with about 8000 feet of climbing and some lovely headwinds. It was 50f at the turn around where there is a cafe. Rick@OCRR was on the ride and he took a couple pics, maybe he'll post them.
Oh, I'm pretty tired and a bit sore.

Got out on the bike this morning for a 30 mile. Temps started in the mid 40s and ended in the low 60s. Another beautiful day. I actually exercised some discipline on this ride today as I kept my effort below 200 watts as well as I could. We had about 1300' of climbing on this ride. That makes 126 miles and 7900' of climbing for the week and coincidentally, the month. lol It's a start.

It was another spring-like day so I had to get out. I had planned on doing stuff around the house but my wife asked if I was riding today, so that was kinda like giving me permission to ride rather than do honey-do stuff.
I was kinda whipped from riding in the wind on Friday and Saturday but still managed to do 28 miles.

Not Spring-like here today but sunny in the mid-30's. 8 miles.
Looking forward to freezing rain, snow and very cold temps this week. Trainer time.

Working around Nora's TKR last Monday and the home care and presence required of me, I have been able to get out for a few very short rides and walks. Generally for anout 45 minutes to an hour. Weather has been great, but wind chills of 25-35 below zero F are forecast Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.

Another lovely day. A little overcast with temps around 70. A slow and easy 14 mile recovery ride to get the knots out of my legs from yesterday's ride.

There's a fool born every minute. I did 105 today, into the wind for 95 of it. Much, much more difficult than last week, with a month of rest. There won't be an attempt next week. I've asked my wife to take care of that, should I mention it on Saturday. I took the camera with me today, but can't locate the cord at the moment. I'll get the photos up soon. Cross-posting this to classic and vintage.
