Did a 78 mile ride in horse and farm country in Fauqier and Culpeper counties. It was 60+ degrees out, and I didn't see even one other rider... Weird. I expected the roads to be mobbed.

12 miles in the fog. Rain now on the radar. Time for a nap.

Well, I was going to take this a rest day after 11 days in a row of biking, but tomorrow there is a 70% chance of rain--so, I rode 23 miles today. This makes 12 days in succession that I've ridden 23 miles each. I definitely should take tomorrow off.

It was a great day for a ride yesterday. I took out the old C-dale for a change and got some work done on the headset while at the LBS too. 48+ miles.

Nice winterweather, a bit rough where the road wasn't cleared. Happy with my setup with the CX-bike, a triple crank, barends and V-brakes work well.

Took out the road bike for a 55 mile solo ride. 40f weather with calm winds made for one of the best January rides ever. I hope I can keep riding often this winter.

37 miles yesterday on the tandem. 41 miles today on my single. Temps got up to the mid-60's, but bright sunshine was a bit difficult to deal with.

Send it to the Ohio Valley! I bet I'll find a way to cope with it.

Anyway, 13 miles in weather that felt colder than it really was. And for the first time ever on the bent, I climbed Mt. Ellsworth. I get so freaked out at really slow speeds that I up shifted, preferring protesting knees to wobbling precariously with a Ford F-150 on my tail.

25.1 miles on the tandem with my sweetie. Temps in the low 40's, high 30's. If the computer says 621 calories, is that apiece or total?

Ride leader, Larry told us bring our mountain bikes for his club ride today. He wiggled a route from Elmhurst to Rosemont with several miles on the Des Plaines River Trail. 28 miles round trip. Temperatures in the 30s. There were 7 of us, including Larry. I'm guessing 4 of us are 50 plus. Thanks, Larry, great ride.

No, and I am kind of beating myself up about it. Had a lousy day at work and on the short ride home (1.5 mile commute, I don't count those) it was cool and breezy. I got home and just could not get myself off the couch to ride. Not that the weather is really an excuse - it's probably about 65°F. My original plan was just to do an easy 20 miles, but.....I couldn't. I know from hundreds of experiences that when I end the day in a lousy mood, a bike ride will help me immensely, but today I just could not do it.

So I'm feeling doubly lousy.

I did 12 miles with a friend (unusual for me) and it was beautifully warm (high 40's) and sunny on Saturday. I tried to make a ride yesterday afternoon but, it was late (already getting dark as I started) and I had spent the day at a party, so I didn't feel good to start - so I abandoned it quickly).

15 mile ride yesterday. Optometrist appointment in early afternoon made for a late start waiting for the Atropine to wear off so I could see clearly. Also found out that I need to have cataract surgery on my right eye. Fun, fun, fun!

I had a Retul adjustment done on Saturday and this was my first ride since then. Boy what a difference the adjustment made. Added close to 1.5 mph speed gain to my normal cruising speed and shaved three minutes off my normal time. Today is my "no ride" day, but tomorrow I plan at least a 30 miler to really see what type of difference the adjustments make.

Yup back on the bike. Found out I really don't like to ride in pea soup fog. That is hairy business. 10+ miles in and now that the fog is gone 11+ miles home this afternoon.

23 miles this morning. Even though it was 42°F, with the wind and some other factor I can't seem to fathom, it seemed much colder. I've ridden when it was 35°F dressed the same way, yet it felt colder at 42°--and I wasn't going any slower....likely going a tad faster on avg at 42 than 35.

56 degrees on Jan. 10-go figure, I should have turned the furnace off, opened a window and warmed up the house! What I did is ride 17 miles.

Not today, but I did a spin class yesterday, and put in 90 miles over the weekend on the (new to me) CFR Team - complete with a front tire blowout!

I rode an hour at my early morning spin class and an hour at lunch. 55f today under a warm sun, just had to get outside.
