35 windy miles this morning starting before 5:30am. Wasn't sure I'd even get a ride in today with the weather forecast.

YES!
I screwed my back up really bad 3 weeks ago. Pinched nerves in lower back are still firing excruciating spasms.
I actually sold my new Pink cruiser bike for what I paid for it, and found a pair of his/her hybrids at a yard sale. I was thinking i could sell them for more than I paid, as I was working to upgrade from that Schwinn cruiser.
Anyways, hurting back be damned, I took my new bike out for a spin to see how it felt.
Wow, the difference in weight and response between the Cruiser and this is so much better. Since I haven't been able to walk, let alone ride a bike for several weeks, I'll have to re condition my tail all over again, but it was so good to spin those wheels up and down the street.
Hubby, took his bike out for his first test drive with me. His first bike in over 40 years!
It was a wonderful day.

After yesterday's ride, the wife decided that she didn't want to go to the MUP today so we rode in the neighborhood. I ended up doing 10 miles (5 with her and 5 solo). Real nice "smell the roses" change of pace ride. Tomorrow, it's back to the MUP for a 30 miler.

16.8 on the tandem, taking a break from work. Mostly on the Minuteman Bike Path. Traffic was a bit frenetic but we survived. On the way home Sharon spotted a sign as Wilson Farm and decided we had to buy some fresh strawberries. She disappeared into the shop and came out 10 minutes later with berries, plums, apricots, zucchini. Fortunately we always have space in the panniers...

I cycled to my bike club today and worked on my brakes.

Then as I am going on a group (Breeze) bike ride from Worsley in Manchester soon and wasnt too sure of the route there I did a recce run with a friend, down the canal towpath which was very scenic and beautiful even if the path was a bit dodgy then took to the road for the last couple of miles.

Was in a bit of a rush so went by the road on the way home at a fairly fast pace.

Another hot and humid 30 mile ride today. It was in the 90's by 8:00 AM. I hate to see what August is going to be like.

did you ride today

I didn't ride as far and climb as many hills as I would have liked because of non cycling activities. I did get in a ride over two hours, with a very good average time, very close to sixty minutes per hour. Riding a recumbent, I get to admire my ripped calves. My calves are quite ripped, you know. The whole sordid affair is on Strava.

Yesterday it really cooled down in the afternoon. Rode the out and back and did a sustained high effort. Actually no wind for the ride and nice temps 80*F.

Didn't seem to have a full ride in me today. The wind was kicking my butt as well and seemed to be a battle 70% of the ride. Only did 25 miles today.

Temps and humidity dropped this morning to make for a really nice 30 mile ride. Had a close encounter with a turkey that didn't know which direction she wanted to go when she saw me coming. Apparently, she decided to go in front of me. Good thing I saw her ahead of time and was able to slow down and avoid the encounter. I really don't need to reinjure my shoulder again.

It's the attack of the killer southwind!!! Did 19 miles tonight with a 25mph south wind gusting to 35. Stepping off the bike I was instantly drenched in sweat.

Oh well, at least it was a good workout!

20 miles commuting on Tuesday.
14 miles yesterday evening.
17 miles today with the stoker on the Screamer. Rode to Garfield Park in Indy. Majority of the ride to and from was on bike lanes. Worked out fine for our ride.

Did 30.9 miles this evening the first several of which were with the fast Thursday evening group. I was good in the paceline up to 24-25 mph, but once things turned uphill I was toast. The good news is that I rode the rest of the distance hard and finished with a 17.9 mile average, climbed 1480'. 50'/mile is pretty normal around here and that average is about 3 mph faster than we would do on the tandem.

Did about 25 miles today. started at the mushers hall at the bottom of the hill so no 700' climb at the end. There is a ride on Saturday called the Chena Hot Springs classic. 62 miles with a hot springs pond at the end! Not really in shape for the ride but soaking my aches and pains is worth it.

Yesterday I beat the thunder storms we have most every afternoon. Actually rode in a gentle sprinkle, felt nice and cooled me somewhat. Ride felt very good and relaxing, tired but in a good way.
