8 miles near home this evening. Circled around to do the local hill twice, plus went through a semi-hilly subdivision on the way back.

YaHoo! Back in the saddle again: new seatpost fits perfectly. 16-something today, with about 12 miles of spinning 90 - 100 on the flats, as much as I could, and sometimes over 100 until I start bouncing in the saddle. (I have a little gear/mph/rpm chart on my bike else I wouldn't have a clue... :-) ) The Specialized Romin Gel saddle seems to work pretty good, but the jury is still out.

Saw an orange jersey out front a ways on my return leg and tried to catch 'em, but kept losing ground on the road crossings. Still it was fun trying and gave good incentive to push myself harder. All I wanted to do was get along side and tell 'em how hard he was to catch... before dropping off and throwing up in private... :-)

54 miles completing the National Bike Challenge. I had a great 4 months with an average of just under 700 miles/month and 20 riding days/month. My best riding season ever.

40.3 miles this morning in 2hr 12min plus a 1.6 mile cool down. My time would've been better but I had to slow down for several vehicles--one of which was going up a steep hill section and made the climb a pain. I don't have many hills, but one climb is fairly steep..not long, but steep.

An hour long thunderstorm, with very heavy rains last night, flooded the MUP again so any riding done today was strictly for distance. I managed to get in a good 35 mile ride, in just over 2 hours, dodging the wildlife crossing the path trying to find a dry place for some food. Deer were the worst and at least five of them ran across the path in front of me at various places. Tomorrow's ride should be even slower as it will be crowded with the weekend riders, skaters and runners.

Did 30.7km today along a new trail and roads....It was a great day for riding sunny but not too hot. I did make it up a new steep hill huffing and puffing by the time I got to the top.....a couple of road cyclists past me like I was standing still.....(one day it will be me). Have a great weekend everyone. Karen

ending the month with just over 350km...most on my new Trek.....love that bike.

Very nice weather riding to work this morning but disgustingly humid on the ride home. 20 miles total. Riding might get rained out this weekend but fingers are crossed.

Put in 32 miles with the Saturday morning early risers bunch. Not many of the A group this morning so the B group set the pace. Good mix of riders and an enjoyable ride.

5 miles indoors today, 2 inches of rain since 5 a.m. Not so much of a problem that, but I've got 4 tornado warnings for my area , within 40 miles

Just a little ride today to keep the legs loose. Beautiful, very light breezes, unusually cool temps, and the lovely clouds -- perfect.

1 hour 50 minute mtb ride after work. Just for a change, I rode most of the trails backwards. It was like riding at a compleatly different place.

Well, riding backwards is certainly different. How does your freewheel handle that, or are you on a fixie?

Nope - just sit backwards on the saddle and stretch my hands out behind me to grab the bars. Then I use my Jedi sense avoid the trees & rocks.

52 miles on the giant all-club ride today. I passed on the 100 and 75 mile options - I don't have the endurance for those at the moment, but the 50 miler was nearly perfect for me. Great weather and a great morning for a ride in the country.

Out of town to do a century ride tomorrow, so I did some riding on my own. I started near the north end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, but instead of riding the parkway, I went around, and up and over it:

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/217596027

80 miles, nearly 6K of climbing. I've ridden up to the parkway from Vesuvius before, and that's a killer. This is the first time I've ridden up from the east side, and it's even worse. Maybe not quite as steep for long stretches, but it goes on for longer, and is plenty steep.

Got pretty wet too, but avoided any actual downpours. All in all a really nice ride.

Hope I left enough in the tank for the century ride on Sunday...
