Took the tandem out for 10 miles today. Snuck in the time during lunch break - I was working from home, so my sweetie could join me.

The weekly marketing meeting I run as President-Elect of my Association of REALTORS (R) was especially trying today, and what followed was no picnic.

I managed this during a lull.

My daughter poured me a Red Hoptober when I came home.

I feel spoiled.

Got my bike back from the shop yesterday and the frame guy said "all is well." Took it out this morning to loosen the hip with a short ride and ended up doing my normal 30 mile ride but at a much slower pace (15-16 mph). Mid 70º temps and an overcast sky made for a great ride.

Today I'm halfway through my 20-mile round trip commute. This past Sunday I rode the Back Roads Century, which goes through some beautiful farm country near Berryville, VA. This was my second century and I finished in 7:08, with a ride time of 6:18.

Another fantastic morning for my daily 30 mile ride. No problems with the hip or the road rash on the forearm and was able to use the aerobars again.

Up early this morning to find it was raining so put off my ride till radar show a clearing and got in 38 miles. Was going for at least 50 but the wife had other ideas for the rest of the day. Getting another 600 miles this month is going to be tough based on the forecasts and amount needed but giving it my best.

I rode twice today. The first ride this morning was on the urban bike path with overcast skies. About 2/3rds way round I got a puncture from a sandburr. Fortunately the repair didn't take to long and I finished the ride with no more problems. 21 miles.

This afternoon I reinstalled a rebuilt wheel on the team fuji and decided I need to take it out for a test run. The ride was a good workout and the bike gave no problems. Second ride was 24 miles so about 43 miles today.

It seems that the weight training I have been doing is paying off in gradually increasing moving average speeds on my training rides. The dumbell deadlifts, squats and lunges are helping kick up the pace when I am pushing for speed.

45 miles this AM. The last 3 to 4 miles I did some sprint intervals--probably didn't do them correctly.

Nice and cool temps with light fog and an overcast sky made for a perfect 30.1 mile ride this morning. I hope all the mornings for the rest of the year are this way.

35 miles, Westerville to Center Village to New Albany back to home.

Almost was right hooked by a school bus that was in a hurry to get back to the barn. Too bad for him I was able to keep up and complain to his boss!

Got in thirty miles this morning with the LBS early risers Saturday morning group. We had a couple of triathletes join us this morning and the "A" group got a real workout as the couple immediately set off at 23 mph. Today's "B" group took a shorter route and we were on hand when the fast folks got back. Good Fun!

Well my goal today was 64 miles for my 64th birthday unfortunately after rain all day yesterday and temperature in the mid 50's and rain I cut off my ride at 36 miles with very wet socks. Of course it cleared up about an hour after I got home after spending that time just cleaning my bike but it puts me behind to hit my 600 mile goal this month. At least I will be averaging that for the past 6 months.

We slept in this morning, got a late start, but still managed 42 miles on the tandem. Cool, overcast, damp day. We ran the entire day with our generator lights on. Made it back to the car about 5:30. A good day on the bike.

A bad day on the bike is better than a good day at work.

Drove down to Burlington KY this morning and joined a small group for a hilly 45 mile ride to and from Rabbit Hash. Enjoyed up- and downhills and views of the Ohio River.

Did the Lighthouse 100K+ (Morro Bay, CA) today on the tandem. 72 miles, 15.9 mph moving average. Cool weather, ocean, seals, lighthouse, good eats.

We are having unbelievable weather - 83 sunny degrees in late September in Minneapolis. I took a 30 mile ride, mostly on trails in Minneapolis, but getting as far west as Minnetonka. The ride was neither slow nor fast - just cruising for some pleasant miles.

Similar weather expected tomorrow and I'll go on a club ride. Gotta enjoy this while it lasts.
