Beautiful day for a morning ride, did 40 miles today. Rode 35 miles on 9/22 which I didnt get to post here. Havent' been on the saddle due to fog and rain the past 4 days. Todays ride is the last for this month. Going out of town starting tomorrow and won't be back till the 10th. Wishing that there will be nice days left to ride next month when I return. Ride season for me is getting shorter and usually end after first snowshowers. Makes me sick reading other posts when they report in the forum their ride all year round.

Well, not today, however, on sat. rode the Badger trail twice from beginning to end (that would be from the Il state line up to Tom B. country and back) Total distance was 72 miles to include a couple of short detours for pie(banana cream), oreos and chocolate milk. Those and the b-fast of a sweet roll and coffee helped propel me to a screaming 11.1mph average. I then doubled up on the pie by having pizza for supper.

I rode the Big Dam Bridge Ride, and I wanted to tell you THANKS! It was a great ride, and the best supported ride I've been on. Everyone was very friendly.

Thanks again for helping at the finish line...

It was kind of frustrating though. The most direct way was across the Big Dam Bridge, but they had that closed off. That meant that the fastest way to where I was to help, was to ride directly into the path of the oncoming mass of BDB cyclists as they started out.

I hustled on towards downtown and got lucky. I made it to the starting line just before the ride started. I rode up the Main St. bridge and over La Harpe just as hundreds of cyclists were poised below to start pedaling. It was quite a sight.

I had a little time once I was downtown so I stopped in a McDonalds for some food. While I was eating I saw a 3 bus caravan heading towards the Verizon Arena and knew it had to be Taylor Swift who was playing there tonight.

At the finish line I helped put up signs, get the water ready, rig a ramp over a fire hose and other things. But they had a lot of volunteers, and after a couple of hours, they thanked me for my work and said I could go as there wasn't much to do. I had a lot of things to get done, so I took them up on it.

I pedaled slowly back up the rolling hills and arrived home just before noon.

Got out for a short ride during lunchtime up on the BRP. It was a beautiful clear Fall day with a temp near 50º. Still rocking the summer kit but I had to put on arm warmers for the descent back to the car.

First ride since last Friday and got in 35 miles. Like BikeWNC said I had summer kit on but did have arm warmers on and off. A little cool out today. Felt good though, glad I got to ride. Last few days were rain or threat of it or something going on.

I stoped at a local farm stand in Alna ctr.,a few days ago and the farmer put me onto a discontinued road that went down to the Alna center railroad station of a rebuilt narrow gage rail line that does rides for folks interested in old railroads. it was a short ride to the station and the road continueing on was muddy but fun on the way back I sat on the rail station benches of the past and it was easy to imagine waiting for the train to Wiscasset Maine//Kenneth

Got out for a little 22 mile ride, out and back to a local gap at Standing Indian Mountain. Beautiful, brilliant day in the low 70s.

Hay! I'm heading up the road to that mountain in the distance.

Typical WNC pasture and view.

Did a 22 mile ride on one of our standard loops. I was wearing leg warmers, toe covers, an underarmour long sleeve shirt, with a jersey and windbreaker as well. It was good weather for being dressed in that manner.

No I didn't . Worked on the hotrod I wrecked a few weeks ago. Another part came in so I put it on. Would rather have ridden but it rained on way home. During me working on the rod the sun came out and the roads dried up, go figure.

I needed to install a new screen door on our pool enclosure and wanted to spend some time with son #2 before he went in on the night shift today. I did a quick (for me) out and back for a totol of 14 miles and it felt great. This cool weather also is nice. I wore a thicker shirt on my ride and now we have the french doors open to the screen room. First no AC day in a while.

Had a nice 53 mile ride in 2 hours 59 minutes.

It should begin to rain for a few days, I might ride again tomorrow early if the weather allows.

Eight of us for 60 miles today. I have been somewhat disabled, but felt a bit better today, albeit I was last up the three mile hill. This picture is from the American River Bike Trail in Sacramento.

After taking 5 days off the bike due to an infection today was the first ride. I fell in a parking lot three weeks ago at cross practice and took a chunk out of my elbow. Boy do antibiotics and 800 mg of ibuprofen work. 31.3 miles with a 20.3 ave. I could have continued riding for another hour. Even better, is that I rode my 1973 Raleigh Super Course 10 speed with friction shifters.
