32 recovery miles today. Didn't push nor did I worry about speed--the ride needed to be a recovery from yesterday's 75 miler. I thought I wasn't going to ride today because of the forecast and was going to use it as a rest day, but the forecast was favorable and tomorrows looks like a wash out--I'll use tomorrow as a rest day.

30 miles with temps in the upper 60's and not much wind. Around here fall colors are at their peak and are exceptionally good. Yesterday no riding but a couple of hours spent fishing on the Fever river in sw wi.

25 miles on a sunny, warmish day, a mixed ride of path's and streets, a stop at the LBS to have the rear brake pads "toe'd in a bit", then onto Manitou Springs, back home, off to the mall to pick up chocolates and a card for our 32nd. Anniversary tomorrow!

Did a quick 19km after I got out of jury duty. First ride for October and we had a gorgeous late afternoon after a dreary morning and high winds yesterday.

Beautiful ride today, very therapeutic. Leaves here haven't changed yet. When they do, I'm arming my GoPro.

Oh yeah, average speed: incredibly fast.

Blazing quick short ride this evening in Central Indiana where the leaves are in the very early stages of color change.

Verrry nice weather today for a ride to work in the morning. And a ride home later in the day. Cooler temps this weekend. Looking on the bright side: Will be nice to ride vigorously without worrying about hyperthermia.

16 miles with heavy dark clouds and "CHILLY" breeze, high's 40F and I swear it was getting colder as we were heading home. Had to run some errands before the REALLY creepy weather coming in tonight. Sat. will be freezing drizzle, light snow, wind and daytime high's in the 20 F, degrees, BUMMER!!

Yes, but my wife is applauding as it will sharply reduce the allergens from foliage.

Last day to accumulate miles for the Strava challenge. 48.7 miles - my longest ride. Can't wait to see standing overall in AM. NO RIDE tomorrow. I am awarding myself a day off - maybe two.

Got out for 27.7 km today. I did errands and had a great ride along the water. We are having great fall weather here on the westcoast.

It's turned cold here in Minnesota - (low 40s this evening) and the evening light is sparse. So tonight was my first of what I hope will be many night rides. In previous years I have kept riding on the weekends til late in the season or even throughout the winter, but retreated to the gym during the week because I usually can't ride during working hours. But god, I hate the gym. This year I'm going to try to ride at night, when I can.

So this first ride was 18 miles in Afton, out by the Wisconsin border. These are country roads with no streetlights and in some cases, no paint on the road, and I found that my lights are not really good enough for illuminating the road when it's pitch black. Fortunately, it wasn't really truly dark tonight - it went from dusk to nearly dark, but with a little brightness in the western sky. I'll upgrade my lights and keep riding.

I'm not sure if I can do this when the roads turn icy or snowy - I can handle daytime winter rides and I'm fixing to deal with nighttime rides on a dry road, but the combination of dark and snowy/icy may be too much of a challenge.

I greatly enjoyed my ride in the semi-dark.

Easy 45 miles late this am. 60-70 degrees, slight overcast to bright sun. Took the afternoon off from work and it was truly worth it! I did save enough energy for a 35 mile tandem ride tomorrow.

Between my knee and the rain, I haven't ridden since last Saturday and I'm like a junkie in withdrawals. May take the hybrid out for a short neighborhood ride if it doesn't rain today. I know I'm not going to be able to do the 100K charity ride I have scheduled for tomorrow. I was really looking forward to that ride. Flying out Monday to Illinois, so that will be another two weeks without a ride. I hate injuries.

41 miles this early AM. Rather pleased since at mile 25 I thought I was not feeling like I'd make 30. Maybe the nasty cross and head wind was a factor. Only a few sections and very short sections had a tailwind.
