The ice has melted, the sun was shining, the temp was way up to 40F, so I got out this afternoon - after making sure that the Colts won - for a ten mile ride.

26 miles, with the wife, finally a weekend day that was at least semi-decent, chilly, a bit breezy but rideable. We did our favorite paved rail trail to Manitou Springs, walked around the town, window shopping, then headed back towards home stopping at the "Little Market" for a awesome roast beef sub sandwich! As we headed on our way, the wind picked up and it got COLD but we still enjoyed being on the bikes!

Woke up at Midnight and couldn't go back to sleep. Finally got up around 02:40 and by 03:10 I was doing a 25 mile ride. Decided not to do a 30 mile or more ride as I thought I'd try, after about 30 minutes post ride, to go back to bed.

I got on the long haul trucker and rode 20 miles to meet my oldest son at his church. He was happy to see me. Then I rode home. A little chilly but I can't complain. I live in Arizona.

Merry Christmas from tomorrow.

Tell me why??

We had my birthday party at Shakeys and we bought home enough food to feed a small Army and yet MY WIFE has been in the kitchen cooking all afternoon, Why?

Finally got a chance to get in a nice 20 mile ride, yesterday, after spending the morning and first part of the afternoon shopping for a refrigerator. I wished my wife were here because I really sucked at it. I spent as much time texting her photos of the refrigerators and getting her opinion as I did shopping. Obviously, not a guy thing.

Time to give myself a Christmas present. So I did. 97 miles yesterday, 40f when leaving, about 32f when done. Got home about 10:30 pm.
The new dog sitter helps increase my miles a lot.

32 Exceedingly pleasant miles on the '66 Raleigh Roadster. Temps in the 40s; wind couldn't make up its mind and kept switching from headwind to tailwind. That Raeligh is so different than every other bike I ride. It has a very awesome smoothness.

Despite a weather forecast of rain all day the sun broke through at 1130 and after giving the roads about 45 minutes to let the puddles abate I got in a nice ride, actually pretty warm here, 69*F when I rode. Merry Christmas to everyone.

36 beautiful miles today on mostly deserted rural roads with Doctor J and a friend. Great temps in the mid/upper 60s F, clear skies and just a tidbit of wind now and then. The weather is supposed to move in overnight and tomorrow will be a wet Christmas (90% of rain). Then it's back to work Wednesday and oncall Friday so this will be my last ride for almost two weeks at best. Oh well.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Was going to ride outside until UPS delivered my new trainer. So I did 20 miles inside warm and dry.

Sadly no, 2 inches of fresh snow on the ground and 25-30mph gusting winds, not my idea of great bicycling weather!! Merry Christmas!

Today is not the Florida weather I have come to know and love. Forecast shows 50-60% chance of rain (coming down pretty heavy right now) with 22-26 mph winds throughout the day. If it stops long enough for me to get the bike out of the Transit, I may do a trainer ride this afternoon.

Got in 28 miles today with heavy winds but warm temps. First time out in a week after fighting and losing a battle with a bad cold and cough.

I did 25 miles Christmas day; today we have sleet, and I got in a quick 5 this morning, but it's just too icy!!! It sounds like you should be happy with your progress! "20 hilly miles" in this weather is good! Don't get down on yourself! Think of all the people who just sit on their couch. My training regimen is to go out every morning before work. With the shortened days, it's hard to get in a good workout. I take my bike to work on the back of my car, and I try to do more miles at lunch. I also have an indoor bike stand that transforms a regular bike to a stationary, but it's just not the same. I struggle to get my miles in during the winter.
