We did 30 miles on the local MUP today. It was super nice bike riding weather. I wish we could have been out longer but need to ready for a visit from some friends from Maine. Riding will be hard to do during the next few days. Oh well, That's one of the great things about living in Florida the weather will great for riding many more days in the coming weeks/months.

Yep... I actually rode today (well actually yesterday now). After about two months of defeatist thinking - I got back in the saddle. Going from 30+ miles a day to nothing takes a real toll. Even though I'm 15 pounds heavier than a few months ago - I'll be back later today so I can say I rode "today" again. Eventually I'll get back to distances that I'll feel comfortable posting

20 miles today. Paying the price for not riding for a couple of months, but I got up off my lazy butt two days in a row.

Plan was to do at least 50 but aim for a metric. The wind was just kicking my butt so I only did 45 miles.

Good 35 mile ride today. Nice temps, overcast and not much wind. There were a few gusts, but nothing that made you struggle through the ride. I decided to use my Cyclemeter app on my iPhone today to see how it differed from the same ride that Strava was way off on. Other than the max speed and the climbing, it was much closer to my cyclometer than Strava.

27 miles with a morning start in the 50F's by 9AM and Sunny! Stopped at the LBS on the way back to get a tire for the wifes bike and my rear tire went flat. Put in the new tube and headed out for another LBS to get a "True Goo Short" put into the new tube, (my standard LBS don't have True Goo, which I like, they use Flat Attack, which I don't like or Slime which I can't stand!!). On the way to the 2nd. LBS, I noticed the dark clouds coming over Pikes Peak and the wind switched directions and got "chilly"! After the Goo Shot, hauled bunns home as it was "lightly snowing" made it home, hopefully we won't get the 2 inches of snow they say we might tonight!

Well.........um........seven and a half miles today after work. Right at freezing but dry and the roads almost completely ice-free. Hadn't ridden for a week.

OK, this is late. I did this ride last Saturday. I drove 2.5 hours south to the Williamsburg area, and did a metric century loop I found online. I rode the Colonial Parkway from Jamestown Colony to historic Williamsburg, and then a loop out into the countryside. Way out in the boonies I found the bridge was out (and had been for some time apparently). No problem, just pretend I'm a cyclocrosser!

Did 35 miles starting at 0430 with temps around the mid 30s(ºF) and a wind. Would've done more but my hands were getting too cold.

Momsonherbike, "riding the beach bike to lunch and back" ABSOLUTELY COUNTS! The important thing is to ride. Happy trails.

I just barely rode today. Started on the trail I use closest to the house and was intending to go to another a little further away, but not much. As I was riding I would get a "slippage" (ok, I don't know the lingo) when I was putting much pressure on the crank. It seemed like when I changed gears on the rear things were fine until I put a little extra pressure and then it was trying to change to another gear or something. Did not happen immediately after shifting but a little after. Guess, as my friend qcpmsame suggested the other day when I (through my stupidity) missed a shift and the chain jumped off, I need to take it in for an adjustment. So I did 3.2 miles today and will take it to the LBS tomorrow (today daughter-in-law has my truck but I sub-teach tomorrow at a school where the LBS is on my way home) for a 230 mile check up and adjustments.

41 miles yesterday along Legacy Trail, Sarasota to Venice, FL, where the three of us had coffee and cake in gorgeous weather.

37 miles today on the tandem with 16 others to Bradenton-Palmetto-Emerson Point. Warm, but breezy. First accident in our group for a long time: leader called STOP at an intersection, one ran into the back wheel of another and made a six-point landing, including his head, so he's just told me, and another piled on top of him. No breakages, but fortunate we insist helmets are worn. We have come to the conclusion the group is too big for single lane roads, so we will go with A & B groups in future.

Well, I had planned on doing another ride this afternoon in addition to the 35 miles I did this AM, but some intestinal distress decided to change the plans. I put the bike on the trainer as I didn't want to be far from any facilities. Managed 30 minutes on the trainer--better than nothing.

I did another 35 mile at the MUP today with great temps and extremely windy conditions. I was pretty worn out at the end of the ride, but it was a great workout.

The winds in S Florida have calmed a bit (not as bd as John's it appears) with today being westerly so I took my ride north and south for a 31 mile loop.

hey team, I've managed to get a ride in over the last 4 evenings here in Oz, getting out thru the week is generally tough for me as I'm involved with the Gorgon Project and the hours are fairly long... leave home at 5am and dont get home till 6pm most days.
Will be aiming for 100km on Sunday tho

Got out for a quick 17 mile blast on the local bike paths. Fairly windy with a 22 mph southwind and 28 mph gusts. Couple that with 43 degree temps and it made for a pretty brisk ride. I am still firmly in winter cold muscle mode which means about 3 mph slower than my warm weather pace. Still a good workout.

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

Today I'm the windshield.

20 miles, LSD pace, a bit nippy but, hey, I'm not under 12 feet of snow. I'm not complaining.

When I came home, I had 4 grandchildren and a cinnamon donut waiting for me.

I'm sure life will suck soon, but right now it's pretty decent.

gorgeous day for a ride on the Motobecane (which was new back in the reign of Louis Phillipe). Temps in the mid to upper 30's, brisk, shifting wind. Destination??? College Park Cycles, where young Scott set up a couple of Specialized Sequoias for me to test. One was an old style; the other was ZERTified, shimano 105, etc. I think this model is discontinued, however, the bike was NOS. I loved it but wanted to see what Proteus Cycles had, so trundled up the road...they were too busy to help, and it was getting late, so back home on the rustbucket.

much of the journey was on two different legs of the Anacostia network of trails. lovely riding. test rides were through the campus of the University of MD, which is sort of my alma mater. All told about 25 delightful miles.
