No ride today. Show and dinner with my daughter is worth a day off the bike.

After a trip in the rain to Gainsville for a run on no-salt items at Trader Joe's we were able to get out between the raindrops for a 17 mile run on the Withlacoochee Trail. While we were eating lunch at one of the trailheads an older guy stopped by. Come to find out he is 79 and will be 80 next week. Makes my 63 years seem small. We have seen him riding on the trail before. He just wanted to chat about our smart car. Seems he rides 10 miles every couple of days and plays golf and kayaks the others. I would say he is a pretty good role-model for the likes of me.

Yesterday (Saturday) I did a 50 mile ride down PCH.

With my new friends from LA-TRI at Mugu Rock, on PCH.

Today I rode 30 windy, gusty miles on Potrero Road through the beautiful Hidden Valley and Sherwood Lake areas. A truly gorgeous ride wind or no wind. In spite of the windy conditions there were quite a few riders out in the area.

Some of the hills around Potrero Road...this road has been featured in many commercials and movie scenes.

NOTE: Decker Canyon is "up" the road, via the 23, from Sherwood Lake.

Gorgeous day for riding in the Carolinas. Worked in 90 miles with the last half pushed along by a baby tailwind.

10 miles indoors today, but spring is just around the corner, up the street and south, about a quarter mile. I think it's down at Casey's.

Nice. Cycling paradise ... except that last grunt up to the top of Potrero.

Donned my poseur uniform, and did a casual spin around PV with some friends. Crappy views.

68.9 @ 17.4 ave on Saturday. I unfortunately had a tire cut that kept me from 75-80 miles. Fortunately I had a tire boot so I could get home. Was busy on Sunday so left for 25 miles that became 21 due to 20 mph (gusting to 30) headwinds.

All in all a good weekend of cycling

Rode about 20 miles to day on a ride to Manchester Airport on Saturday .

mostly on trails but also on tarmac.

Havent been out for a month so I didnt complete the ride which would have been about 26 miles all told

On Sunday cycled to the National Cycle Centre on the Fallowfield Loop which is 20 miles each way then an extra 14 miles on top of that.

Hugely impressed those I joined for a short cycle ride as I had cycled all the way to the Venue while they all drove except for the two cyclists I joined at the Cycle Centre.

Around 74 miles all told this weekend.

Might have been 101 roughly if I had completed both rides but I had done enough I think on Sunday so stopped and had a meal at the CC instead of cycling back with the group and then slogging back another 27 miles home again.

Wow what a thought, maybe I should have done it!

I did my typical, 35 mile, wilderness MUP ride today. Temps at 72º at the start with overcast skies and mild to moderate winds. It was nice to not have the strong wind gusts we have been having the past few days. Made for a real enjoyable ride.

Finally, after being flattened by a bad cold, I got to ride on the road instead of the trainer. I did 33 miles this afternoon--felt good, but I could tell I hadn't been riding.

Doesn't look good for a ride today. It's currently raining and the weather forecast is for 60% throughout the day with a tornado warning until 5:00 PM and lake wind warnings until late this evening. I guess I'll hit the bike shops and drool.

Nice commute this morning. Temps seem to be moderating now staying in the 20's F early morning and hovering in the upper 30's during the day. Black ice is everywhere so caution is needed as usual. Studded tires doing their job well. Alot of snow melting during the day refreezes at night. Anxious to change out my worn out suspension fork for the rigid. A weekend project coming up soon.

I think I spoke too soon yesterday, as it was back in upper teens this morning, light winds and the usual black ice all the way. Another snow and rain event is on the way for tonight and tomorrow so that may be it for commuting this week. Had a nice ride home last night and a beautiful pre storm ride in this morning.

Another great cycling day and another great 35 mile ride. Should be clear sailing the rest of the week with a little dip in temperature over the weekend.
