11 more miles today, all in pouring rain. If I wait for clearing or dry weather, I won't ride until August.

I did the "sailing" ride I mentioned in the other thread. Buddy hauled me out to Purcellville and I cruised back home 35 miles with a 25mph tailwind all the way.

I wanna go again, Daddy!

After having some knee pain on yesterday's ride, I decided to take it easy today and ride with the wife at the MUP. I only did one lap with her but it was very enjoyable. 15 miles at a slow pace and beautiful Florida weather made for a great ride.

57.5 miles on Santa Ana River Trail. Light headwind out and back. Saw two snapping turtles,(?) in the river today. I never knew that they lived this far west. The geese and ducks are starting their migrations already also. Must be the 90* days.

76 miles starting at 11:30AM. Not fast, but I did it in 5 hours 6 min total which included stops for traffic, a pee break and eating/drinking, and one more stop to eat and drink. My ride time was a bit under 4 hours 46 minutes. This isn't near my great time in September where I did 62 miles with an 18.3 mph avg moving time. The ride was easier/better than the 71 miler I did last Sunday. Partly I'm sure it's due to having done the 71 miler last Sunday, but also this time I ate and drank more. I had a PBJ and banana sandwich about an hour and a half before riding, a banana just before riding, a breakfast bar at the 16 mile mark and 28 mile mark, half a PBJ+banana sandwich at 42 miles(kept moving/walking and stretched), the other half sandwich at the 55 mile mark and another breakfast bar at the 66 mile mark. I drank in sips and bigger intake at eating(drank about a ½ gallon of water). The breakfast bars I ate while riding.

Edit: I do have to say I was battling a nasty headwind and crosswind about 2/3 of my ride. From 1pm on I was encountering winds @ 15mph constant with 25 mph gusts. Well, it makes me feel better about my time, lol.

26 miles this early AM. Legs felt much fresher today, one day after the 76 miler, than they did last Monday after doing 71 miles on Sunday. I would've done 33+ but it started to stop and start raining and I didn't want to get caught in a full rain too far from home. I could still tell that I had done the 76 miles yesterday, but my legs were much better than last time.

Did not ride yesterday as wind gusts were very high, which for me makes a non-enjoyable ride. Today have temperatures in the low to mid-30's with non-accumulating snow. I am off to our gym (in my 55+ community) for a workout consisting of light weights followed by time on teh treadmill and reumbent exercise bike -boring!

Tomorrow's forecast calls for temperature of around 42 degrees and winds between 10 and 15 mph - I look forward to riding.

Best regards

Still fighting this stupid resp. virus going on almost 4 weeks now. It was too nice today not to ride. Got out for the same 19.5 mile valley loop in very windy conditions. However the temp was 73º so it was super nice riding in summer kit. Funny thing today that my ave power was 32 watts higher and my NP was 24 watts higher, but I was 25 sec slower than the same ride last weekend. Dang wind. If the weather will hold off with the rain, I hope to do a nice steady mtb hill climb tomorrow morning. There's a gated 17 mile gravel road climb in Smoky Mtn NP that would be good for endurance. Coming back down is fun too!

Got in an 18 mile club ride today. Had to take a different route for the trip back since they had all of downtown Tampa traffic rerouted. Tampa is hosting it's annual Mayor's Criterium Races today and all the streets were closed. The new route took about six miles off the usual route.

9 miles on the short wheelbase 'bent this morning and then 10 miles on the long wheelbase this afternoon. 30 to 40 degrees cooler than it was on St. Patrick's Day 2012.

Cold rain today but beautiful day yesterday. Saw a gazillion cyclists enjoying the day.

All the motorsickle thugs were out en masse. They didn't bother me, but I wish they wouldn't take the baffles out of their mufflers.

I rode twice, once with my daughter, and then a longer solo ride. When I ride with my daughter I take my road bike, which is so much nicer than my bent for short rides.

Then when I rode my bent, I heard every comment from "nice bike" to "WTF was that thing?".

I rode through a park where people of pallor are in the minority. A group of guys, all of whom regarded me as a Martian because of the weird bike and kit, were grilling burgers over a charcoal fire. This was at about mile 33 of 40 miles of riding.

I wanted to become their new best friend.

After the ride I drove straight to Backyard Burger and got me a 1/3 pounder.

I guess that's it.

First club ride of the year today: Start of Spring Ride. I rode the 23 mile version. The rain/snow stayed south of Indy and temps were in the mid-30's. Last year's ride started at 69F.

Another little 20 mile ride today. Still pretty windy and warm. Probably the last day I'll ride in my summer kit for a while. I sure wish I could up my mileage but I just can get over this resp. bug. I'm wiped after just 20 miles.

a 94 miler in great conditions but the wind kicked up some that last hour or so. I guess I should have added 6 more miles. Oh well.

Got in 37 miles this afternoon but the odometer hit 5000 miles on my Synapse which was a total I never in my wildest thoughts I could make (15 months) after the multi back operations I've had. My wife still thinks I'm crazy but the riding is keeping me off the operating table.

Not today, yesterday (but forgot to post). Only 22.x miles but following 49 days since the last >1 mile ride. Plus there was some wind. Ouch.

Still good to be out, though and it was otherwise a beautiful day.

70.5 on Saturday, as ride marshal for the Tour de Cure Phoenix 65 mile route (extra miles were from riding to/from the start). 39.2 @ 18.0 ave yesterday, possibly my best workout in several months.

Another good 35 mile MUP ride today that almost got rained out. Good thing I was behind the rain and it stopped before I caught up with it.

Crappy weather today so I did 80 minutes on the trainer. I would've done more, but I had an early sub assignment and I needed time for a shower, make lunch, and get dressed.
