A slow to moderately paced 32 mile ride today. Very windy and still fighting the side effects of this new medication.

2nd ride for the day. Sub job was for ½day. The LBS put a new rear derailleur cable on the bike before my TdC ride--that was around 3~400 miles ago and so I went in to have it checked and adjusted. I looked at the forecast and it appeared the rain would hold off until 4:30 or later so I road to the LBS, about 5 miles. Mech decided to change the cable housing at the rear derailleur as he determined the Teflon coating on the interior was worn and catching the cable. I was going to ride around the neighborhood to check if adjustments seemed right(He also removed a link since the chain seemed a tad too slack and checking the chain wear showed the chain as good.). Anyway, before I get to leave it starts raining and I wait for it to wane--started out and thought I heard thunder and made a quick bee-line back. The sun started showing so road back home. Total of 10 miles on the second ride today.

21 urban bike path miles this afternoon. 16 mph south wind and partly cloudy skies. Will try to head for the country and get some rural miles in tomorrow.

Just a 15-mile combined commute to work and back.

Bikey Mikey: maybe I'll see you at Cap2Cap. I'll probably be wearing my Capitals jersey (at least if they win Friday night.)

My "training" for Cap2Cap last night consisted of riding home in a pounding thunderstorm

After the results of yesterday's blood tests, doc says I'm OK to ride while we are playing the dosage adjustment game as long as my heart rate and respirations remain normal and don't go out of whack. To do that, I have to go about 5-8 mph slower than my normal pace, but at least I'm able to ride. Got in a nice 33 mile, moderate paced ride at the MUP today which didn't tire me out as much as I have been lately. Nice temps and very little wind.

Since I have a Century on Saturday, only did an easy to moderate effort on a 22 mile ride. Tomorrow I'll likely only do 20 to 30 minutes easy spin on the trainer to keep the muscles loose.

30 minutes easy spinning on the trainer to keep the muscles loose for tomorrow's Century. I'll have to keep a close eye on the weather though.

A very nice 37 mile ride today. I was able to pick up some speed for longer distances without running out of breath or having lactic acid buildup in my legs. Hopefully, today's ride is a sign that the new dosage is starting to fix my problem with this new medication.

John,
Its good to hear that the blood work was in the green part of the gauges and that you can safely ride. Please take things carefully.

44 rural miles yesterday on a new route for me. Partly cloudy skies, 74° NW Wind 13 gusting to 17 mph. Just under 350 ft. of climbing.

This afternoon I put in an adiditonal 21 miles on the local bike paths. About the same conditions with a little less wind.

Thanks Bill! I plan on taking it slow the rest of the week. I go back for another blood test on Thursday but judging by yesterday's ride, it looks like they are starting to rise. I'll be going for another ride in about an hour and will see if it's the same as yesterday or better.
