joined up with our small Tuesday/Thursday group. I did 45 miles, threw in a few intervals to get the HR up. Pretty strong headwind coming in the last 20 miles.

Weatherman promised that today was the very, very, very last cold day we'll have until Fall. We'll see. Did my usual after work 31 mile loop down to DC, and it was in the low 60's. I'd kill for a day like that in the middle of winter, but for the middle of May it was just ridiculous

Did a 10 kilometer ride today, nothing big. All rock road, half straight up hill, so much so that I spent most of my time in the lower gears. Coming back down was fun though!

So funny to me, when I was in the states, I would ride canal trails and maintain 18 mph easily, here, not even close, and I am much more wiped out. The crazy road builders who figure we never have snow, ice, etc just go straight up mountains... sometimes you have to dismount going up, because you are afraid you are going to flip over!

No ride yesterday but I did manage to get in my regular 33 mile ride today. Starting to get really hot in the mornings and the humidity is starting to climb as well.

45 miles late in the morning.

I did my ride later than I wanted to since I had to get blood work this AM for my upcoming physical. The blood work required me to be fasting and I didn't want to cycle and have a dangerous drop in my glucose levels. As it was, the phlebotomist, yes that's what the person is called who draws blood, was running behind and I could tell my glucose levels were getting low. Fortunately, I brought a banana and a breakfast bar with me to eat after the blood work. I ate and waited about 10 minutes before driving.

Just the usual commute. Today was intense and rewarding. The morning was serene. On the return I left work early because the weather radar showed activity on the way. Traffic was frenetic. I managed to stay dry for all but the last 3 miles or so. Then, while the sun was coming out, the rain started, not heavy fortunately. The wait for the train was cold and windy. On the other hand, I saw my first Baltimore oriole of the year today along the Blackstone River.

Yeah, I rode but my legs felt tired, I was a bit out of sorts, and frankly the stats are none of your damn business.

20 miles to and from work on a very nice day. Passed a young fellow on the way in like he wasn't moving. He had pulled off onto the shoulder for a moment. I didn't let him catch me. Cat 6 racing.

Rode some intervals last night. 8 x ~1 mile. Felt great on both the tailwind *and* headwind legs compared to last week when I only felt OK on the tailwind legs. Total workout was ~50 minutes. Oh, and I almost t-boned another cyclist who blew a stop sign - OK, I didn't really almost t-bone him but I did need to slow for him.

Darn, I missed a day. Got in 53 miles yesterday - 33 miles on my regular ride and 20 miles last night on the Ride of Silence. Today was another 33 miles before my doctor's visit for some more blood work. Good news is that it seems that my blood levels are starting to return to normal, but they're still not there yet.

Before blood work? Was this fasting blood work? I hope you eat something before, during, or definitely after, a ride of that length.

My blood work yesterday, Wednesday, had to be fasting and I was not going to ride, 45 miles in my case, without eating something--so, the ride had to wait.

None of my blood work for my leukemia requires fasting as it's for my blood makeup levels only. I did get something to eat when I got home but normally I don't eat much after a ride, often just a PBJ and a glass of chocolate milk.

Starting to feel too much like the middle of summer. Started my ride at 8:45 AM and it was already in the 80's. Got in a very warm 37 miles today that had me a bit tired during the last half of the second lap.

BTWD but had to be at work before the group ride from our side of town was to leave. Nice solo early morning ride. Was to lead return ride back to the South Side from downtown at 5pm. But, was pouring down rain just before 5 - still raining at 5. No one there - rode home alone in the rain most of the way. 22 miles total.

Today's ride was almost identical to yesterday's ride except that I was able to get in some 20+ mph sprints in today's ride. Couldn't hold the distance for very long as I'm still battling the side effects of this new medicine. However, with all things considered, I did get in my 37 miles in a decent time.
