21 miles riding to and from work today. Slightly cool this morning - warmer this afternoon. Sunny.
Lots of 'football' fans in Downtown Indy on the way home. 42,000 watched Chelsea play Inter Milan in Lucas Oil Stadium. Biggest crowd ever to watch soccer here. Not sure how that game came to be.

Rode a training ride with a neighbor who is riding the local Pelatonia charity ride. Guy is 70 or so, rode 22 miles @ 12 mph average. He called me a monster for going so hard!

A nice 44 mile ride ending just before the forestry service started their controlled burns.

Friday, rode 15 miles before a family shrimp fest at my M-I-L's home. Hot on the roads, 93°F-106°F and 87% humidity, drank a good bit of water but felt great the entire ride.

Only 23 miles this morning with a friend. Flat, but with a touch of wind that never seems to be anything but from a front quarter... It was cool enough when we started at 7 am, but warmed up quickly. Summertime rides probably need to start earlier than that where I live. 15.x moving average, just trying to enjoy the ride for the most part.

Another 44 mile ride day. Should have listened to my body this morning instead of going for a fourth 44 miler this week. After having a restless night, I got to the MUP before 8:00 AM and it was already hot and humid with the winds picking up. I'm wiped out and need a really good nap this afternoon.

103 miles at a turtle pace in really humid stuff. Like JohnV I should have listened to my body and done something a little shorter. Wound up with 2 detours with bridges being out.

34 miles with terrific weather. And only one person buzzed me. Pretty good ride.

Got off my lazy butt and rode 80 miles with 4500 ft of climbing this morning. Perfect temperatures, at 70F with partially sunny sky and no wind except the last 15 miles. My legs are feeling it - the result of being lazy the last couple of weeks. Maybe a short ride after dinner to loosen up.

Marin 100K, which was really 57 miles and "featured" 3800' of climbing - definitely a workout for me.

rdtompki had lots of company. I did the Marin Century - 102 miles and 7500 feet of climbing. I had shortened the last 2 centuries I had attempted. The first because I decided I had better things to do than climb Mount Hamilton when it was 108 degrees - I ended that at 70 miles. The second I just convinced myself I couldn't do it and took a shortcut again at about 70 miles. I was beginning to worry I would never get beyond 70 miles (I have completed other centuries before this). This time I had a game plan going in - wanted to average 13-14 miles(ended up averaging 14 miles exactly), and broke the ride down into 4 25 mile rides - luckily the rest stops were at about the 25 mile ride. After each section i would tell myself I had finished one ride and was now starting another 25 mile ride. The route included the famous or "infamous" Marshall Wall, and heading towards it from the last rest stop I was feeling a little sluggish and worried wouldn't make it to the top. I stopped before the bottom for a brief break and then ground up it, with not as much pain as i thought. I "had to" stop about 2/3 of the way up to help a damsel in distress with a flat tire (she put up a good fight before I finally got a hold of that tire). I did think about turning in my bike card as I was passed by a recumbent going up the wall. From the summit it wasn't that hard to make it home. In the past have gone a little crazy during the last 25 miles - one time forgetting to clip out at a rest stop, another time repeatedly stopping to put on a jacket, and then forgetting to actually put on the stupid jacket, but I didn't have that this time, and felt good pulling in to the finish (although very happy I hadn't signed up for one of the longer rides (they have a 200 k and 200 mile). The Marin Century is one of the best rides I have ridden - excellent support, fantastic scenery, good crowd of riders, and great after ride food.

Had a nice 20 miler this afternoon, tried some nice new roads with more rollers to try and work out some more. Felt great to go out in the summer weather.

Yes. Thought it might rain so it was short (maybe 35-40 miles) sweet and relatively fast for me....on the big ring.

A good 35 mile ride at the MUP today, although a few of them were quite wet ones.
