officially 11.1 @ 20.0 ave this morning before work. Somehow the computer did not add in 1.1 miles (it is my usual 12.2 morning workout route). I can only assume I made the 12.2 in 20 mph ave too

Yes, I did ride today! Or was I swimming? Got caught in a downpour halfway through my second lap and ended up with a very, very wet 37 mile ride with a 0% chance of rain (according the the Weather Channel and our local meteorologists).

Great ride with my wife today (and no flat tires!) 43.2miles and 4700ft climbing and a tasty brownie at mid-point break. My wife hadn't ridden much in the last month and sort of bonked toward the end. She's napping on the new covered deck.

Yup - 11.5 flat, mainly N-S miles, mainly Sheridan Road in Wilmette-Glencoe, IL, stopping for lights and a Purple line train but not the stop signs. 90+degrees, just about an hour. Wind seemed mainly from the West, last 1.5 miles going West were tough. Recovered quickly. This may not sound like much, but I was off the bike for at least 6 years until mid-July.

50 miles on the hottest day of the year. My heart-rate hit 177, not a good thing on a day like today.

Lunch ride, 9.5+ miles of flatness around Torrey Pines/UCSD. Took it easy on account of a surprise knee pain...

22 miles on a Bike to Work day.
(Very impressed with how well the Polar insulated water bottles work on a hot day - stick it in the freezer with a inch or two of water in the AM, fill it up just before riding home, then enjoy cold water all the way home!.)

Was today Bike To Work Day? Indeed I did bike to work. First time this week that details have allowed it. The usual ~17 mile round trip. Rode the black/celeste Bianchi. It was awesome.

I guess it was a bike to work day and not a Bike to Work Day!

~27 miles with a friend this morning. Started around 6:30 since it's supposed to top out at or near 100F today. It was pretty pleasant (for late summer in Louisiana) and just about zero wind. Hope to do it again Monday morning.

Except for the shorter distance and not getting waterlogged, this mornings ride was almost the same as yesterday's ride. 21 miles before the rains came down but unlike yesterday, I was barely able to outrun the rainstorm back to the van.

60 miles Corona to Huntington Beach and back @ 16.7 MPH. 83* at the start, 79* at the beach, 101* back in Corona. 7.5 bottles of water and I still am down 4 LBS ( 4 pints). I hate muggy weather.

yes . . . . . . didn't make my usual sunrise start as the past few weeks though. There was just serious lack of motivation today. I finally did get pedaling about 8:00 and rode a more leisurely pace for 12.5 miles in just shy of 56 minutes. Gonna try to get going earlier tomorrow for at least 16; more if I'm feelin' my oats!

We ran new roads for us, 40.0 miles, Bedford out to Honey Pot Orchards in Stow, back to Concord, then north to Carlisle. It was so humid that at first I thought we were running the swinming and biking part of a tri simultaneously. Eventually it rained lightly but not enough to dampen the ride.

Crossing the Sudbury River on the return:

36 moist miles. Sorta regular OSU opening day game ride. Ride from home in Westerville to stadium to watch the Buck Nuts stream into the game like a big cult.

Total of 32 miles today including the Miracle Mile Ride - a hundred cyclists led off the Miracle Mile Parade on Indy's southside this morning. We preceded the IMPD motorcycle team (and the rest of the parade) and then went off on a 24 mile ride. One parade spectator - a lady - yelled out at us and our 'bent tandem "That ain't..............normal!" Referring to the bike, I think. Started riding at midday on a very hot day........warm fun!

Metric century today - pleasant day for a ride! I was thinking of practicing my pie eating skills, but opted for the pulled pork sandwich instead.

Did a 100 mile Potomac Pedalers club ride from Frederick, MD up to Gettysburg.

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/368289910

It should have been a relatively easy ride, and it was. But I got the worst leg cramps of all time. I guess it was the heat and the humidity. I thought I was keeping well hydrated, but maybe I was losing too much salt or something. It was horrible. Every muscle group I had on my legs was cramping up on every pedal stroke. I couldn't even stand up over short climbs because my quads would lock up tight and almost throw me off the bike.
