That's a beautiful area of our state too! We live nestled on the eastern side of the Cascades. I've always wanted to travel to the Frenchglen area...pics I've seen are beautiful! Cycle Oregon came through our area a few years ago and, even though that was before I became interested in cycling, I was intrigued with the idea of it all. I've added that to my bucket list!

qcpmsame, I use MapMyRun (I am a reformer runner) to track my rides so I'll have to think twice before switching to Strava. But my favorite pie is PEACH, ala mode, of course! Although I much prefer a frosty beer after a ride.

As a reformed runner, I must admit that part of my enthusiasm about biking is all the gear! I LOVE my bike; can't say I ever felt that way about my running shoes. I definitely never posted shoe pictures on the running forums...My husband's friend, after listening to me ramble on excitedly about my bike, said I sounded like a 12-year-old boy instead of a 51-year-old woman. I took that as a compliment!

Got out this morning for a short 20 mile loop with around 1200ft of climbing. It was humid but cool. A cold front is coming through tomorrow to reduce the moisture to more typical Sept. levels.

12 mile ride on the mountain bike wearing board shorts, t-shirt and running shoes. No lycra or clip in pedals today. An almost leisurely ride through the orchards and vineyards around Osoyoos - for whatever reason I kept thinking I had to pedal harder, like I wasn't getting enough of a workout with the 2" knobby tires.

It was just weird. I really didn't do anything different from what I usually do. The only real variation was the heat and humidity. I usually actually start out a bit over-hydrated (I'm always the one looking for the porta-potty at the ride start.) So I probably didn't drink much of anything for the first 25 miles. It was still fairly cool then I thought I was sufficiently "topped up" Maybe not.

2nd ride on the new mountain bike. I did 55 miles on the C&O canal. Got the bike good and muddy, and got my first crash out of the way (broke my helmet, and got a bit of road rash on my right arm.)

Yesterday mine was "undefined", i.e. 0mi/0hrs. Sorry, that's the best I can do. Visited the Museum Of Science (mos.org) instead. Anyway, it rained most of the day.

shoot, I almost always post my ave speed. I would rather use my Garmin Connect ave rather than Strava, since Garmin Connect is usually at least .1 higher....

Yeah, but I wasn't.

I got out after work today. Avg spd was 1845.26, more or less. You can choose whatever units you think appropriate.

In an attempt to lose a few pounds before the winter sets in, I rode for the fourth day in a row today. I left my daughter's gym for a ride up Wayah Gap and back. It's mostly a climb up and fly back but there are a few rollers on the way down that slow my speed. Wayah is a tough climb, not super long but fairly steep. It has a couple miles at 10% with a few 11-12% spots. The main part of the climb is only 3.3 miles with a 8.0% average (1400'), though it is generally up from the start of the ride. It was 86º in the parking lot and only a delightful 64º at the top.

Is anything in Flarda in the summer ever not cut short by a thunderstorm?

I rode my commute this morning. I've done only half of it so far. I'm stuck in the office right now on a beautiful day.

A nice 37 mile ride this morning after a no ride day yesterday. Wife had me hang bird feeders and photos she brought back from her dad place. That took most of the day since she changed her mind several times as to where she wanted them.

I rode for the first time since moving back into Manhattan. This will take some getting used to, though it is fun and invigorating.

My usual ride to my Horticulture Course, 4+ miles but have changed my route from being totally on roads to including part of a Trail popular with Sky Ride Leaders and Social Ride Groups.

Is much quicker and saves me slogging all the way round on the road when I can whizz along on a Trail. Also see other cyclists and horses as well so its loads more fun that arguing with big wagons and cars

I rode 39 miles with 1400 ft of climbing. I'd ridden 70 the day before with some 15% climbs so we took it easy and kept the average speed down to around 19 mph. My last ride before the 500 in Cycle Oregon next week.

21 miles bike commuting today. Just about perfect weather even though I had to wear a wind breaker vest for the first couple of miles.
