A very cool and foggy morning. A great 35 mile ride with overcast skies and not much wind.

Another nice and cool and very windy morning. I actually had to put on my arm warmers for the ride this morning. Got in a good 44 miles but the wind kicked my butt today.

Spent the day taking the wife to three doctor's appointments. Tried to find some time to do a neighborhood ride but that didn't happen.

Casually Deliberate
Yes, I did. I took the Trek around the block a couple times this morning. Then I zipped into the parking lot, rode right up to the door of the shop, applied both brakes and tried for a graceful but dramatic dismount. Instead, I nearly went down sideways, did lurch into the idle but not stored barbecue grill, and sloshed coffee onto my arm and hand but, luckily, not my sleeve. Probably serves me right for trying to be all show-offy my second week on a bike, huh?

Got up this morning to 53 degree temps. Decided to wait till it warmed up and started my ride in the early afternoon. A very nice but very windy 35 mile ride. Had strong crosswinds pretty much the entire ride. Legs are a little tired today.

74 miles today. About 50 F in the afternoon and 40 F. Windy.
You gonna eat that?
24 miles today. Along the way, I left my bike for a while at the bike shop and they replaced the headset. Wow, I didn't realize how bad the old one was until I got nice smooth-running bearings.

Hadn't ridden since last weekend's Hilly Hundred - today we rode the tandem around our neighborhood, on every street and cul-de-sac. 6 miles altogether.

33 miles from Wawa, PA to Malvern and back. Was only 36 degrees at 9:30, and I was a little underdressed. The winds didn't help, either. But it was great being on the Domane and riding in hillier terrain in PA compared to Gainesville, FL where I'm spending most of my time due to work. The cold made me appreciate the warmer climate of FL and I'm looking forward to riding all winter.

I took a little ride in the rain this afternoon. It did not start out in the rain or even finish in the ran; just the middle part was in the rain. The weather gurus all said 30% chance of rain. They were right. It rained on about 30% of my bike ride. Dang they are good. I started out in mostly clouds but they looked friendly. At about the half way point, I got a few sprinkles but no big deal, it was just a few drops and then it quit. Hey, this is cool! About a mile later it opened up. This was an out and back and I had just passed a closed business with an overhanging porch (sadly, a LBS) so I turned around and headed for it. Would it stop? It did not look like it so I moved my cell from my pocket to my under seat bag and headed out to go home. Two miles later.....dry as a bone. I was already headed home so I went on to the house. At least the wind was at my back for the return. Jersey and shorts dried out just about the time I got there. Socks? Well, not so much. Good ride? Absolutely. Today, it was enough
