Did 4 of the 6 major side roads in Harriman, total 54 mi, 5,100 elev gain. I think I'm making real progress because a few months ago I couldn't do one of these roads.

First post-retirement ride: 47.5 miles, 2200' of climbing, 147 mph average. I'm going to welcome the expiration of daylight savings time to I can get an earlier start.

This was a multi-animal day: turkeys, pigs, deer, quail. It's reasonably unusual to see pigs during midday. I wouldn't want to hit one of these suckers on a downhill.

104 miles in beautiful Fauqier County VA on a mostly gorgeous fall day. Late in the afternoon a cold front blew through, and I had a headwind for about 10 miles, but then the sun came out when I turned back for home, and ended up with a sweet tailwind. Perfect! This is my 33rd century ride of the year, and I haven't missed a week without at least one 100-mile ride since April. Getting harder to do with the shorter days though:

Must have been the same one my son-in-laws friend did. He came in at just under 11 hours for the 148 mile total. I stayed home for that one.

Had a great 24 mile ride this morning. Started out with nice 55º temps and a bit of a chilly wind. About 30 of us rode to the new Courtney Campbell Causeway Pedestrian Trail that connects Hillsborough (Tampa) and Pinellas (St. Petersburg) counties. The trail is finished on the Tampa side and the rest should be completed in 2014. When done, it will have two steep bridges over the channels. The one on the Tampa side is done and although it doesn't look steep from the vehicle bridge along side it, it certainly is.

Panama City Beach

COLD, WAVES and WINDY, at least for this SW Fl guy. Wife said some swimmers were brought in on jet-skis from the swim and there were rescue crews responding out on the marathon course early evening.

Yes. For the very first time I rode to the Norwegian pancake breakfast (on the Trek). I had a great time even though I got very slightly lost and travelled at such a Sunday out for a leisurely cruise speed that I got a text of concern from the BF. Can't wait till next month to do it even faster.

Nice short ride with OK pictures: https://www.strava.com/activities/93029620

What's funny is my neighbor thinks I'm pouring on the mileage, when in reality I've had to cut back because of the nagging back pain.

After two weeks of rain,.. the last two days have been dry,..albeit cold and windy. My bride and I did the 12 mi quick jaunt. She never rode a bike as a kid (had 3 horses instead). I introduced here to the bike about 3 yrs ago. Took a year before she was comfortable, but now...she zips right along with the same smile I have...

17 miles in 45 degrees Michigan gray sky. I took the Fuji in to the shop and the $30 1978 Raleigh I got at a garage sale. They both ride like dreams now and I feel bad for neglecting the Fuji for my Mukluk. My Mukluk did take me on many adventures. Winter riding will just be the Mukluk but I will try to eke out a few more rides on these two for as long as I can.

A very windy 35 miles today. The sidewinds were 15-25 mph from the start of the ride and were hitting me the entire ride. Tomorrow will have near the same winds but the ride will be around 50-55 miles.

33 miles with cool temps and overcast conditions. I stopped by and voted on the way in. I was the only person that rode my bike to where we vote today.

Did 5 loops of my favorite 11.5 miles in Harriman. Felt really strong today so I did the last 3 loops entirely in top gear (only have 7 gears). It was 50 F but not a bit of wind so I felt fine with just a ls tee and a windbreaker.
Yesterday, I did 15 around town in the late afternoon.

Took a half day off this morning (to accommodate a dental visit) so rode to work midday. The crowded-in-rush-hours road was lightly traveled. But, better yet, I was able to ride behind a City of Indianapolis tractor pulling a bush hog in an upright position for four miles at 19-20 mph. Very nice! (20 miles total trip)

I'm confused. Was the bush hog or the tractor in an upright position? Or were you riding that way? (What's a bush hog, anyway? Do they have trouble staying upright when being towed by a tractor?)

I have been unable to ride since the weekend. Thing's I need to do keep getting in the way of things I want to do.

I'm gonna have to put a bike on the spinner in the dungeon. Three days of dry weather came to an end today (rode all three days)... back into the lousy cold windy wet weather. I'll keep my cross breed on the road and put my road bike on the spinner.
