Another great fall ride in southern New Hampshire.
Can someone please tell me how I can have a head wind for the whole loop?

You obviously have irked the cycling Gods and need to offer a sacrifice to appease them again.

54 miles today with one of my teammates. The winds weren't as bad as yesterday, but the 27 mile ride out into open country was not very pretty.

While I was waiting to get on River Road, a beautiful team kit blonde roadie who looked about 30 or so rode nonchantly by, no hands on the bars, fiddling with something or another, not the least concerned about the cars flying past her.

It was hot.

Bush hogs are not animals. They are large mowing attachments pulled and powered by tractors. The one I drafted was upright/perpendicular to the roadway as it was being pulled from a job to the Department of Public Works center.

Maybe I should have read that more closely. You drafted a bush hog? That is four types of awesome.

I once tried to draft an Amish horse-drawn buggy. The passenger honestly looked like the mecha in AI, except he was wearing a black hat and so forth. He kept glancing around, and I'm afraid of those violent Amish. One might have pulled me off my bike and tried to shave off my recumbobeard. The humiliation. So I just passed them.

For about thirty seconds I drafted a truck on River Road. It gave me time to compose my epitaph:It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Well, I rode the Westside Trail in Beaverton, Oregon today. It was about a 10 mile ride, out and back. Most was on the trail. Going through the Nature Park was fun, as there were several groups of kids being shown the natural world of the park.

After two days and a total of 89 miles of riding in winds of 18-25 mph, my legs and brain got into an argument last night over whether I should ride today. The legs won out by a landslide.

I was hoping that the winds were going to be decent today, but I was very wrong. Another 35 mile into 20-25 mph winds. Good thing I took yesterday off.

Great ride!!! Up early and got my errands and chores done by early afternoon. Bikes were still loaded on the bike rack on the truck. Sun shining and 41.5F at the start. No appreciable wind, but crisp. My bride and I kept up a nice pace through a scenic autumn day (the snow hasn't made an appearance yet). The sun clouded over at the end and it got noticeably cooler. I find that on the days I ride,... I sleep better at night.

Biked to and from work today. Almost wimped out because it was 26F when I got up but was dry and no winds. Sun was shining by the time I got into the city.
Very nice ride home - temp around 50.

Fitness ride today in the mts, 63 mi, 3200' gain. Attached an 8-lb weight to the rack for added resistance. With this, and a stiff breeze blowing, I got a fair workout. Temps were in the low 40s but when the sun popped out it wasn't half bad.
Yesterday, I rode around town, 25 mi, with some rain.

Another very windy day for a bike ride. I decided to do my 35 miles at whatever speed my legs were comfortable at, regardless how long the ride took. Didn't really take that much more time than had I pushed through the headwinds and tired out the legs. Very good ride, overall.

Glorious day: https://www.strava.com/activities/94129011

Very windy but it just isn't as annoying for a bender because of the aerodynamics.

Beautiful day in NC. Temps today were in the 30s/40s/50s over the time I rode. 70 Miles with an 18 mph average. Trying to get the mileage back up for the December centuries. There was more breeze towards the end of the ride than what I was expecting though.

I've been going back over some routes recently that I haven't done in awhile, and remembered how nice they were, and how much of an adventure they were the first time I rode them. This week I did 100 miles in Loudon, Clarke, and Warren Counties in VA:

https://connect.garmin.com/activity/402040085

Rode from Leesburg out along Snickersville Pike to Bluemont, where I stopped in the sun for the first rest stop. The town is right at the base of the first line of the Blue Ridge Mountains:

Then up and over the ridge and down to the Shenandoah River. Mostly followed the river to the outskirts of Front Royal at Linden, and then back into historic Rectortown. Finally back via Round Hill and Purcellville to the end of the W&OD for an easy cruise back to Leesburg. Nice day, and when it got windy it was at my back. Can't beat that!

I forgot about the organized charity ride that started at the MUP this morning. About 300 riders all over the place when I got there. For a change, the winds were decent so off I went but it didn't take long for them to pick up. Got in a 44 mile ride with 12-15 mph winds by the time I was done.

Did a birthday ride five days early. Rode with BF member JJScaliger, did 68.55, which betters my b'day by 3.55, now doesn't it?

Two C&V bikes for this C&V rider, JJS's Dawes Galaxy and my Bianchi:
