Second ride in the last three days - woohoo! 7.5 miles after work. Breezy 40 degrees but the sun was shining and the roads are clear and mostly dry. Tomorrow is supposed to be OK, too, but maybe snow again on Sunday

Finally!

After 8 straight weeks of snowy, cold, wet and generally miserable weather...

15 miles in sunny but cool central Ohio weather!

I just finished 78 mi sucking wheel the last 40 with a "whippersnappers" peloton. When I got home I poured myself into my recliner where I still remain. A couple thousand feet of climbing thrown in and the legs are gone. I hope I can recover enough to do my usual 40-50 mi. Sunday ride. The older we get the longer recovery seems to take. It is fun to jump in with the young guys and pick up a few mph for free.

12 miles on the Screamer with favorite Stoker this afternoon. Dry, sunny, almost fifty degrees. (First tandem ride of 2014.)

51 miles this morning. Got rained on for a few minutes then it stopped, the sun came out and turned into a beautiful day.

71 miles in Fauqier and Loudon counties, about 5.5K of elevation gain. Beautiful day. It was a bit windy, but I had good luck with the direction, and it never felt like a slog. I got some really painful and annoying inner thigh and hamstring cramps near the end, even though my legs weren't really all that tired. This usually happens when I ramp up the miles in the spring. I usually just keep spinning on through them. So on each pedal stroke it's "stretch it out OW OW OW, stretch it out OW OW OW" over and over again

Same here. When I slide my knee warmers down yesterday it let the blood flow better and the camp went away. The knee warmer band was apparently pretty tight and restricting blood flow???

Token five mile ride on my long wheelbase 'bent this afternoon, mostly to fine tune position of new seat. Mid-30's but sunny.
After today's ride and including a mile or two around the neighborhood yesterday on the Big Buzz hybrid that I almost never ride, I have ridden all four of my bikes since last Thursday. (Had not ridden a mile in 2014 until Thursday.) Woo-hoo!

49.5 miles, 4200' of climbing. Getting old really stinks: 12.1mph average. It's not the amount of climbing, it's the single climb, maybe 12 out/12 back, with 3000' of climbing that puts the hurt on. OTOH, it was a beautiful day. "Chilly" at the start, 75 degrees at 1330 when I finished.

33 miles this morning with the Sunday Bicycle Riders Group. Great weather for today's ride vs the last time this route was taken, two years ago.

3rd ride after a 23 day lay off and I could tell. I did 40 miles and I could tell my butt needed to reacquaint itself with longer rides--longer than 26 miles that I did on the other 2 rides.

35.6 miles today. Rode in Cascade Bicycle Club's Chilly Hilly. It was all of that plus rainy. It was fun and hard at the same time.

A short 17.5 mile ride this morning. It was one of those sun, no sun mornings where you didn't know if it was going to rain or not. It started to drizzle and after checking with the radar on my phone app, I decided to call it a short ride.

Nice 44 mile ride after taking my grandson to school this morning. Temps in the upper 70's with moderate humidity, so it wasn't all that bad. Weatherman said last night that we may be looking at an early summer like weather. I don't think the last one really ended.

After yesterday's crappy, rainy day, I had a 44 mile ride planned for this morning. Got to the MUP and remembered that they are hosting the 2014 Florida Double Ironman competition today through tomorrow. The park was open for normal use, alongside the event, so I ended up doing 35 miles so I wouldn't get in the competitor's way.

44 miles this morning with my riding buddy. Still had several participants in yesterday's Double Ironman ending up their run when we left. I honestly don't know how they did it!

Meeting up with the fast guys was the reason I left house at 0654 with temp. at 51F. Ride 10 miles at 19.2mph average and no one there. Wait around a bit then I head out on my own expecting to be swallowed by the pack somewhere on the 26 mile route and it doesn't happen. Average for the 26 miles was 20.0mph. A few minutes at the stop and out again to meet up with another group at their first stop. Another lonely 16.5 miles later at 19.6mph average I get to the stop and nobody there. Time to head back home so back on the road for 13.3 miles at 20.6mph average to a gas station for some water and ice. After a refill a short 7.5 miles at 21.6mph average gets me to the trail head where the second group would have started from and all their cars are there indicating they might have taken a different route just like last week. Finally head back to house for the final 6.6 miles at a 18.5mph average and a hot shower after stretching and rolling out the legs.

Not the ride I was hoping for but a good TT type of ride to prepare for next Sunday's 5K and 10K Seniors. Tomorrow will be 13 miles of pavement pounding walking and jogging then hopefully a 1.5 mile swim later in the day. All subject to legs moving upon wake-up at 0250.
