Absolutely beautiful spring day here, temps in the mid 70's, a NW wind @ 15-20 and a blue, cloudless sky above. 25 miles on my regular route, felt good to pull through the rollers at a decent pace today.

Did a 30 mile ride into a a stiff wind. Was a bit tired after but I have to start slow and build my stamina and distance.

Good for you! Keep at it and you'll be amazed at how the miles begin to fall away, and how enjoyable they become.

After the worst winter in most people's memory, we have, at least for now, a gorgeous early spring. It was 70 degrees today and so I just had to leave work a little early.

It was also kind of windy, about 15 MPH coming from the S, so I took a chance and headed straight north, having a blast with that strong tail wind. I got up above 30 MPH on a few gentle downhills, pretending that I am actually fast.

I was gambling that the wind would die down when the sun got low in the sky and sure enough it did, so by the time I turned around, I was facing only an 8-10 MPH headwind. That was still some work, but overall I feel like I cheated. 37 fabulous miles in all.

It makes up for all those times when I fought a headwind on my way out and then the wind turned just as I did, so that I also had a headwind on the return.

Its a start regardless of the mileage, when I returned to bicycling it was only 2 miles a day a few days each week. Keep at it, as MinnMan said, the mileage will come as you progress and your enjoyment grows. Bicycling as plain addictive.

A spectacular day here in Central Florida. Got out for a nice 35 mile ride this morning after getting rained out yesterday. Weather for this weekend should be a mirror image of today which means great weather for my favorite ride, the MS 150, this weekend.

10.6 mi testing old bike after trying to copy bike fit on new one. Not bad - but handle bars no where near same - so can't do much there. It'll do for a rain bike.

A pretty breezy 32 miler. Another fellow and I were the only ones to show up tonight. I think we averaged around 18 mph. Not bad after doing the TT last night and feeling tired from not sleeping well....too hyped up from the TT.

Had to ride today, temps in the high 70's, not too much wind and sunny skies, 25 miles again.

Rode to the Colorado River Heritage Trails and back, around 18 miles, half of it in a 40 mph headwind.

I so much wanted to ride today. But the wind was awful and I decide to walk instead.

Another 30 mile ride, this time with hills.

I've been taking some of my old routes and finding I didn't loose too much by taking the winter off.

I rode after taking lunch. I initially decided on not riding my usual 10 miles/45 minutes for lunch but after getting back from lunch and seeing the zero work load I figured I go for it and work a shorter day ;-)

I nice 25 mile ride after work. Perfect 65f weather was just warm enough and a tail wind on my way home kept me above 20 mph for long intervals.

Well the wife got home late but we went for a quick 2 mile spin before it got dark. I figured that's better than no seat time at all today. That's the farthest she has rode her bike other than on the trainer inside.

I rode 5.2 miles in 25 mph winds today. The first half was pretty tough but the second half was a breeze : ).

Day one of the MS 150 is done. It didn't start off very well thanks to the party going on in the room next to us. Got about 3 hours sleep so between that and the expected winds, I opted for the 50 mile instead of the century. Started off with calm winds but later turned quite windy (15-20 mph). Ended up a really good 52 mile ride. Hopefully next year I'll do the century on this ride, as it's on my bucket list.
