37 miles today with minimal climbing as the temp was 111 degrees today. No head winds to speak of and I did get my ride in fairly early so maybe I only suffered in 100 degree temps..

On Sunday I rode my first Century. I've ridden a bunch of 75-90 mile rides, but never into the triple digits. I'm glad to have gotten over that hump, and I'll make a good effort to do a few more this year.

I rode from my house in Snohomish out to the town of Index, and then out to Lake Roesiger and back into Snohomish.

I passed a couple hundred or more farms

I haven't been out to index since before the turn of the century, so this is my first view of the new bridge into town(built 1999). That wall in the background is popular with the climbers.

I passed by this old milk truck. When I was a kid, our milkman drove the same kind of truck. I got quite a few rides home from school in it..

Thanks Jim. In the past, nutrition has always haunted my long rides. I have a bad habit of forgetting to eat or stay hydrated on the rides. This time I ate a little something about every 15-20 miles, and drank a crap load of water. I didn't feel wiped out at the end of the ride.

Wonderful images. Makes me want to go there. Did my normal 25+ miles today. Mainly the Arizona Canal. Underpasses, straight, nicely paved no traffic of any kind. Just spin up to speed and roll, roll, roll.

Rained during the ride this morning and only got a 37 mile ride in place of the 44 I was planning on. Good thing I decided not to finish the full 44 as it started to thunder while I was packing up, even with the sun shining and blue skies, and around here thunder means nasty lightning storms.

47 miles today as the temps finally dropped under 100 degrees. About 1200 feet of elevation gain and headwinds slowed me down some.

Overall it was a good ride!

Roger, looking at the photos makes me want to come down and ride. I've heard from friends who have driven Hwy 2 that it's a tough road to drive. At least from a drivers perspective. How was the traffic on Sunday?

Rode to our local Home Depot and back (about 6 1/2 miles each way). In 105 degree late afternoon (I left around 6:30) weather. Also half of it into our famous headwinds.

3.5 mile total round trip to the Honda dealer to drop off the Element, ride back to work, and ride back to pick it up afterwards.

$500 to replace a door lock? Are you kidding me???

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

h2oxtc, Hwy 2 is pretty congested during the summer months on Friday(eastbound) and Sunday(westbound) afternoons. I took this picture on my way back from Index at about 3pm, this is between Startup & Sultan. I only used Hwy 2 to for a couple of miles to connect the roads that were my route.

I got out the other day and rode down to Mukilteo.

Just 22 miles today as it was a repeat of yesterday's rained out ride. Of course, it hasn't rained any more since after I got done putting the bike in the car. I did happen to notice this on my bike computer after the ride.

44 miles with horrid headwinds today.. Had 1100 feet of elevation gain and stopped to chat with a cyclist that I had not seen in a while. All in all a good ride even with the headwinds..

After reading everyone's ride reports I was feeling just a little guilty. Haven't been on the bike in a couple days, so I went for a 17.8 mile ride in the city today, 1757 ft climbing.

Wasn't going to ride this morning because of the forecast but the sun came out so I took a chance. Got in a nice and steamy 34 miles before having to come home and get ready for the grandson's birthday party.
