A twenty mile ride on the Screamer into downtown Indy and back this afternoon. Quite unlike our normal rides out into nearby farmland. My favorite stoker supplied afterburner power as needed.

20 miler this afternoon instead of my morning ride as I had early appointments. Prefer mornings but glad I got my ride in. Northeast winds made for red flags on beach and crazy wind for biking.

I used this old bike, to help get to this destination, with this view. A good day.

Been doing my riding in the early mornings now that it's raining every afternoon at 5. Makes for an 'uncomfortable' commute home when the lightning is popping around your head. I have a 15.2 mile loop I ride between 6 and 7am these mornings. Today I rode my Bacchetta Belladare long wheel base recumbent and made the trip with a 17.9 mph average. 75 degrees, no wind, light traffic, high humidity, sun just coming up as I made my turn to the NW onto the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail here in Okeechobee. What is it with the walkers on the MUP with the headphones on walking right down the middle of the path? Can't call out to them, they can't hear you, so you go zooming by right next to their hand and hope they don't take a step in the wrong direction....

40 miles with 1650' of climbing. My body is punishing me for it.

The weather was awesome and the traffic light.

Early start to beat the heat this morning, which didn't do much good after a few miles of riding. Got in 35 very hot and humid miles.

I've been slack in posting my rides. A couple shorter rides last week, followed by 55 miles after work on Friday with 3740 ft of climbing. It was a very windy 55 miles I might add. Saturday I rode a very relaxed 30 miles with my wife thru wine country. Next time I'll make it a task to actually count the number of wineries that route passes.

The Axel Merckx Penticton Granfondo is coming up in a couple of weeks. I have registered to ride the Century this year, one of only a few that I've ridden. My plan, today at least, is to make it an easy Century but knowing my inner child (who is very competitive, but only with itself) the ride will end up being a little faster and a little more tiring of a ride than I plan.

81º at 7 this morning with humidity over 90%. Had to fix a flat on my wife's trike before starting the ride. Good, but very hot and humid, 44 mile ride for this morning.

21 miles as a Bike Commuter today. The weather was very, very nice even if it was a bit humid this morning. Tornadoes caused some damage (no injuries) in Indy yesterday so nice weather today is much appreciated.

Got out late today as I started my ride after 6 pm. This work stuff is getting in the way of biking. I can fix it by getting up at six am. Anyway 18 miles this evening with plenty of wind.

John, you are putting in good miles. I rode 19.86 miles after work today. I'm in sales and I drove a lot this week and my back ached today while riding..don't know if it's related or not.

Finally getting back into the swing of things after a broken shoulder a little over a year ago. I rode 31.2 miles this morning and about 110 miles over the last week. The shoulder took much longer to heal than I expected. I'm also down 23 pounds since I climbed back on the bike a couple of months ago.

Today was hot and humid and a minor bicycle adjustment turned into a repair. So I got out later than I had planned and the day turned into a 20 mile sweat fest. I loved every minute.

Birthday ride -- 64 miles at about 16 mph. I'm only 63, but I figure the extra mile is the cycling equivalent of "and a pinch to grow an inch" (do they still say that?). Went out to dinner with my sweetie, plus the US advanced in the World Cup. Great day!

Well done! AFAIK, nobody says that, but what do I know about it?

How do you (singular or plural) manage to do a birthday ride? 71.4% of mine fall on a workday.
