No cattle grates across the roads here, lots of cows and calves, though. My regular 25.4 miles, while watching a thunderstorm cell to my SE drop a bit of rain. Missed me, thankfully.

Had a family ride scheduled with my daughter and son-in-law this morning but they had to cancel. Still rode with the wife for a very enjoyable, 22 miles in some really nice weather.

Got up early and rode up the W fork of the San Gabriel river. Really felt bad for a portly gentleman that was at the campground about 6 miles in. He was presumably on a shakedown bike camping trip and on his way out towing a small trailer when I had the displeasure of informing him that his car window had been smashed and the interior completely tossed. it was definitely work of vermin of the two legged variety. They went straight for the glove box.

Serendipitously the Dam Master was at the gate at Cogswell Dam and let me pass so I continued up to Rincon-Redbox and made a loop out of it.

31.5 mi and 4350 gain

Surprisingly the temps were not unbearable, even with a day that topped the triple digits. It seemed like every major climb was shaded by oak trees. Those sections had my head on a swivel for cats.

Didn't see a single soul on the whole loop, but that road is the bear commuter route from the burbs to the mountains. I quit counting bear tracks after the first dozen or so sets.

Lots of other critter tracks, including one either juvenile Mt. Lion or a really large Bobcat.

got home about 12:30

A relatively flat 100.1 miles with 3600' of hills at 17.5 mph. A nice headwind for most of the first 50 miles.

I felt SOOO guilty today. Clear blue skies, temperature reached 80F and LOTS of cyclists out on the road. I spent the day at the beach with my wife and enjoyed the last remnants of summer, including a swim in the lake. It was wonderful, even if it didn't include a bike ride.

102 miles, 8800 feet of climbing, from Lexington to Glasgow, up to the Blue Ridge Parkway on 501 (busy road but it wasn't bad early on a Sunday morning), back to Buena Vista, up to Vesuvius/Raphine, and back up the valley to the start. Very cold all day, and overcast, but pretty pleasant. Only saw a couple of riders out all day, and none on the BRP:

It was much cooler than it has been when I rode my 25 miles this afternoon. We have had thunderstorms off and on all day across the county. Water spout came in around Fort Pickens, on the Gulf, this evening.

We've been on vacation on Mt. Desert, ME. Took the tandem out two days, and I took the Motobecane out for a few little spins too.

19.5 miles 17.8 average 1400 ft
It was a race against the setting sun after dinner. Photo was taken a mile before the end of the out and back.
I really didn't want to turn around before reaching the end. Now I really ought to find where I put my bike light.

Did 47 miles with a buddy through rolling hills of East Tenn, one 15% climb, and you can feel fall moving in. temperature 69 degrees and overcast averaged 15.3 mph. Not bad for two 70 year olds

20 miler. Same one I do daily. 81 degrees today which is pretty nice for riding. Hit 23 mph for a brief moment. I'm getting there just not as fast as I'd like. Middle of my 16th week since I started biking.
Average 120 miles a week. Started at 208 pounds now at 185.

36 miles this morning in what started off as a not so nice day. Weather forecast predicted 25-30% rain but it turned out to be a beautiful sunny morning.

Did 41 miles with 19 on the Atlantic Ocean beach at low tide. 85 or so degrees, a little cooler than normal today. Just starting riding again in May on a 21 speed beach cruiser type bike. Did a 36 mile ride on Sunday out in the swamp area.
