There is a cloud in the sky so I am staying in.
|
20 miler. Beautiful day, beautiful ride !
|
Yet another 25.1 mile ride day, sunny, 67°F, 70% humidity and south winds. Nothing to complain about here.
Bill |
Very humid and foggy this morning. Fog hung around until 11:30 when the sun came out and brought the winds with it but it was still a very nice 35 mile ride today.
|
Same 25 mile route, a bit of wind from the WNW, slightly cooler after the rain last night/early this morning.

Still sharing time between the wheelchair and walker (damned gravity!). I seriously miss my rides. Three bikes just sitting here gathering dust.
I've had plenty of time to investigate tadpole trikes ranging from $1700-$7000 (carbon fiber Swedish make). Right, as soon as I hit the lotto. Hey, here's cause to stay within the lines: http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=423426 After considerable research, experimentation, and experience I decided that adulthood is not for me. Please accept my resignation. |
Had some beautiful weather today for a great 45 mile ride.
|
Windy today! Took advantage of the winds and did some intervals into the wind and got a good workout on my 35 mile ride.
|
Took yesterday as my day of for this week, felt good to just do some maintenance and wash the kit for the week.
Took a very nice 25 mile ride this afternoon on the regular course. Almost no winds for a change, kind of cool at 59ºF, but comfortable with a LS jersey and tights. Bill |
2nd century this week. 105 miles solo with 4200' of climbing. Not fast but legs were not as strong from two rounds of golf plus the first 100 miler.
|
57.6 miles @ 15.1 rolling ave on the group ride yesterday
|
Friday: Rained out.
Today: Back to the 25 mile route, nice riding once the rain stopped. Cloudy and a slight north wind, 49°F for the entire ride. Bill |
47 miles in a local Wounded Warrior ride with 64 other riders. Excellent ride.
|
Just barely above freezing this afternoon but dry and no wind so I got in a lucky 13 mile ride.
|
32.5 miles, temperatures in the low 30's but above freezing.
http://world.std.com/~muller/pics/Ri.../TheBridge.jpg The significance of this bridge over the Sudbury River is that about 20 years ago a big section dropped out and fell into the river. The original builders had left out the steel reinforcing called for in the original design. Apparently oversight and accountability weren't part of the plan. The state rebuilt it slowly, using the original stone for the facade and side walls. The new bridge isn't as elegant as the original compact arch but it will probably last longer. |
53 very cold miles, on a lovely loop around House Mountain, near Lexington, then up North Mountain and over to Goshen, and back via Goshen Pass. About 4700 ft of climbing.
I can't wait to try it some time when I can feel my fingers and toes :( |

20 kilometers on the Lynn Valley Trail today. A very brisk -3C (26F) but the sub-freezing temps had the advantage of keeping the limestone screenings mostly frozen and crispy instead of gluey like the areas in the sun. It felt particularly good to get out and ride.

22 mi. @ 19.8 mph, the wind kicked my butt. I had planned on 44 mi., gave up.

So this morning came out at 13.66. Cold and gray. Improved 2 mile segment by a whopping one second today! :) |

A 61 miler after church. It felt a lot cooler than the high 40's due to no sunshine. I did a route with a shortish but nice climb. One view is below from the top of the climb. 13 BMWs roared past me while climbing as I couldn't go their pace, however the descent was a different story!!

Almost exactly like my ride this morning. Planned on a 45 miler and ended up with 22. Of course it didn't help that I foolishly decided to do some wind sprints into the headwinds.
|
8 miles this afternoon - upper thirties and partly sunny.
|
4 miles to and from the train station.
|
25 miles this afternoon, gray skies and a mist mixed in with some sprinkles, but the winds were just a slight north breeze and it stayed in the mid 50's the entire ride. Not to bad at all.
